T1 GF finely balanced, tks to magnificent DJ-Toddy partnership for Noisy lot.

An aside: when was the last time the batting side in a T1GF had to make three starts over three days to complete its first innings? Overcast conditions Sat-Sun no boubt favoured the bowlers, making the abovementioned partnership all the more meritorious. Just look at all the scores in other matches.

Some highlights so far: DJ-Todd partnership; bowling of Choo Choo look-alike Bence; Bloodhounds hallmark 7-2 defensive field from early on which may have bottled up run scoring but denied them wicket-taking (ie bowled/lbw) deliveries with too many pitched outside off stump (and a fair few by quite a margain); good umpiring by the twin blue and black M&Ms (Moose/Medima) to recognise this, as well as other decisions including when to come off and when to resume play; entertaining community radio commentary team with subtle repartee between Choo and TGO. Captains of two finalists last year did not let their obvious disappointment get in the way of fair and generous apportioning of praise for participating finalists.(However, why the obsession with wanting Connellan to bowl because of some perceived Toddy weakness against spin when no spinner has dismissed him?) Keysie clubmen's great job with the covers; Keysie igloo providing excellent value for money $5 roast beef in gravy buns; Keysie canteen charging $4 for very dead hotdog rolls for finals when most clubs charge $3 during the year; is that finals goughing?  Keysie ground's good wicket and beautiful outfield; premier player from another comp seen in deep conversation with recruiter from top DDCA club; could he be an early coup?

Speaking of recruiting, note to lying senior official of certain club: $14 grand a year for one gun does not assure you promotion. you can only hope that the second promised $14k will ensure your man can stand up when it counts next season.

I'm glad you enjoyed the broadcast ironsmith. As Slocs said, he did come on and immediately had Todd a little apprehensive and perhaps for the first time in the innings looked like he could get out, then did nick one which was dropped. Besides that though, I just felt he was the bloke to be bowling in such brilliant batting conditions against two very accomplished batsman. Do you not agree he was perhaps underbowled? Do you really think the conditions favoured the bowling team? Not taking anything away from the batsman who were superb, but you couldn't get a much better batting track than what we seen yesterday, IMO anyway.

One swallow doth not a summer make; one snick not taken does not show in the scorebook. He could have snicked one from the V-Train or Accurate-korrala or Nibbles, just one of those things in cricket. I have watched Toddy bat every innings this season and can assure you spinners, including the bearded Conman, do not phase him.

Yes, it would have made a difference if Conman had been bowled more, then medium pacer who got GT caught by Nibbles would not have got him and DJ might have taken to the Conman like when he destroyed the best leggie in the comp who ended up with 0-96 at the snakepit! Lot of ifs!

Yes, track was good, but that is not the sole factor to be taken into consideration. Overhead cloud conditions all day and murky light towards the end also have to be considered. Anyway, all this is in the past. Now to next weekend when the challenge for Twiddle-dum and Twiddle-dee of Casey Radio (great how you support each other) will be to maintain the standard. But remember guys, don't stray too far from the booth because your around the ground interviews just don't work thanks to inadequate equipment. I'll be listening!

TGO, re recruiting: Keysie FC's Ryan "Bomber" Goodes believed to be trying to recruit another Goodes to fill a gaping hole in the Burra's backpocket on the GF ground! Reckons this bloke will run through opposition like a choo choo train.

scruffball, sorry to see you in such a confused state. you though you'd pull my chain but you ended up tugging yourself to the point of inanity. you have obviously already gone blind (to reality) and have also become just plain screwed-up ridiculous in drawing such a log bow from what i posted. leave it alone or it will fall off.

thank your mother for the rabbits folks, the fat lady has sung.

to the naysayers who can't stomach a bit of noise from down by the creek (and hate the fact that a small club can do so well), choke on your poisionous vomit. genuine well done to the mordi boys for a great year and truly best for next year but no kidding (and no false modesty) was that a spanking or what?

ironmaiden, name names.

I'll start with scruffball and his gobshyte last post. loser.

pringles no show for personal commentary in ridges tent. loser.

experts who couched their words but nevertheless were bagging dj and caulking for going too slow last sunday, what say you now? in case you missed what happened today, dj marked his 25the birthday by scoring a chanceless 188 not out -- 101 off 20 overs today, with calky smashing 43 and troyser slamin 31 of 17 balls to take up where he left off with his century in semi. more than doubled score in 20 overs, showing (those who too easily forgot) why bucks are 20 over champions five times and metro champs twice in recent years. bowlers magnificent even without no.1 man kuru, with lashy sensational and wes taking 6/41.

Djs knock set new ddca record score for T1 grand final, beating previous record set by another buckley boy, robbie boorer, with 181 that has stood for about 17 years, I believe. Robbie was there cheering dj on. "I coached dj as a kid (as did paul rudd who played) and couldn't be happier, "especially as its another buckly player to set the new recond," a sober boorer said.

in case the knockers around the traps think im boasting, think what you want. I have only stated facts that are in the scorebook, buckley has had to put up with your fking resement and hate for years. this should make you lot choke. tough. swollow hard and choke some more. you know who your are. to those who have been gracious and even handed in your commnets, thank you.

Iron smith I'm sure the cricketing people in the comp are ok with Buckley winning the same people are not haters. It's the certain duck wit supporters that give you a bad name. Great team, great win, enjoy.

explosion of emotions at home of noisy boys after t3 side convincingly won premiership to create history for the club yesterday: first time Buckley's top two turf sides have won premierships in the same year. while the boys in both teams were magnificent, recording victories by large margins, and thoroughly deserve premiership cups (now continuously overflowing with liquid amber) and individual medallions, take a bow backroom wranglers who rounded up the cattle: bigwiskers, rattler, matty and sunny.

. . . and DJ well what a superstar batting in the dark... he must have used his ears to listen to the ball as it came down to hit it.... PLEASE SPARE US YOUR DRIBBLE...

scruffball, it's been more than a week since you posted your pathetic sarcasm in reply to wordy but you have roared like the mouse you are since then! obviously still choking on YOUR DRIBBLE  given the guy you attempted to belittle played perhaps the greatest T1 gf innings of all time (see comments by aaron martello and umps in today's Leader; what wasn't mentioned was that he achieved what he did despite having to make three starts on three diferrent days and all the added pressure that brings).

Interesting post on Snakepit site. Fair enough to announce new signing and to congratulate top junior ... but ... seems the boys on day release haven't caught up with the real results for last season.

 Home of the COBRA

Welcome to the HSDCC website 2013/2014 season.

.

.

We are Very Happy to announce our previous Season Success on the field, with our Turf 3 and B Grade sides making and winning their respective Grand Finals. This is a huge achievement for the club to bring home 2 flags this year and hope to carry on the success to next season!

We would love to give our congratulations as a club to Dion Weerapperuma, on his fantastic effort throughout the season to win the DDCA Under 13/1s League Allrounder Award. This is a great achievement and hope that he continues his bright future at HSD.

.

As A Club we are proud to announce our new signing for the 2013/14 Season Matthew Cox. Matthew is a top order batsmen formerly from Ashburton. We look forward to seeing Matthew playing with us next season in the red and black!

you don't have to please me pubman, just actually win a particular premiership before claiming it.

good to hear you lot will be aiming higher. should be a good season for the snakes if the D-generation perform consistently well and your gun recruit, the mad ex-Vic fast bowler, turns up at last!
