just thought i would let you know that he is in hospital having an operation on his left thumb after he discolated it and also a compound fracture..hes having the op first thing in the morning so lets hope its not as bad as feared and he will be back sometime soon....i was driving him to the hospital looking at a bone hanging out of his thumb......not a pretty sight.

I like to wish Goochy the best of luck, i hope he can be back in the swing of things soon.
It should be a 4-6 week lay off for most but i reckon he will play and bowl next week.

just spoke to him this morniong after a visit from the surgeon and its not good news.

hes broke it in 3 places and needs a plate and screws in it so the doc has said hel be out for 3 or 4 months but he reckons he will be back before xmas.mad ****

The ground may have contributed, it was hit very firmly off a bottom edge from a cut shot off Finchy's bowling who is sending down lately with a bit of pace. Bounced a couple of metres in front of him and he led his his hands. Full impact on the first thumb knuckle closest to the nail. Blood everywhere and bone exposed. Something so simple and now may have ruined his season.

The bloke is gutted but is still talking about playing on through it. And for those blokes hiding behind aliases, please don't bother with the 'Got what he deserved' or 'Who cares nobody likes him' comments, just don't waste your time your not funny. I think we can all be mature enough.

Few of the guys will visit him today in Hospital.

Can i just say in the short time i have known Goochy he is a delightful fella who is a great person to be around, to those outside the club who pot him would only need 1 Beer with him to change there thoughts on the bloke.
I would gladly play next to a bloke of his character any day of the week, he always gives 110%.
I wish him a speedy recovery & hope we can pull some wins together for him so he returns our season is still alive.

Big shoes to fill Beav's. To say he would be the backbone of the MM's season is an understement.......but he'll be back.
