This topic is not to slag Berwick but just to see what is happening down there, they have a big chase next week 274 I think, just wanted to know if any of the Berwick boys had any idea's? On paper they are the best side in the DDCA Quality pace attack, good spin options and prob the best batting line up in the DDCA an awesome all round team. I still think Berwick will win the flag but they are putting themselves up against it. If they don't get the 274 and still have to play SSCC, North, Narre and Parkfield they could miss the four. Are there any probs there maybe a bit of complaicancy or waiting for your team mate to do it instead of doing it yourself? I don't know. Is Wil Carr injured didn't bowl in the 20/20? Train, Sir. Forklift, Pringles any idea's? I don't know maybe Cranny batted well and the outfield was fast and with equall conditions Berwick should get them?

They will chase down the 270 easily. Wills will get them on his own.

I have not got the answers for you, wish I did. Your point is fair and we need to win this game to kick start our season really.  The pressure is certainly on the boys at the moment. As you know sometimes you need a bit of luck, we have been scint in that area let me tell you. There was a couple of catches dropped which can happen and a couple of other very very difficult chances if they had stuck would be a totally different story. Diwell and Murdoch obviously get most of there runs, not the most comprehensive knocks you will see, a lot of play and miss, French cuts a plenty, but they have the runs on the board and we need to get them. Theres no problem with Wil, hes fine as far as I know.. This is my opinion only but I think we are being too nice to the batts. I may be a bit old school but I think we need to mix it up a bit and start seeing what batts can actually hook the ball of there nose. put the fear of god into em. Give them two or three balls around there head, we have a number of bowlers who are capable of doing this, we just need to get a bit of aggression into us. All said and done we have a number of guys who have reputations for being good cricketers but unless they can produce they are just names. But overall the morale is very good, and if we batt for 80 overs we will more than likely win every game.

I can only imagine how many times you have scared the **** out of blokes and in the end they do something silly.

p.s. just on that Alex was fantastic on saturday. he is really bowling some super spells at the moment.

Max, remember that day at Berwick when the crowd was giving you heaps and your run up was getting longer and longer and by the end you were practically pushing off the fence, bowling to Ash Henry? Gee that was good to watch, probably not to face though...

Sobers, in answer to the topic, it's a bit hard for me to tell as i don't play there anymore. Purely from an outsiders point of view, after watching the St.Mary's game, it just appeared to me as if they weren't enjoying there cricket enough. It could be due to the fact that they are under a lot of pressure to succeed, considering the line up they have on paper and expectations they have upon themselves i don't know. Everything just seemed a little tense. I think if they just relax a bit more and enjoy there cricket and each others company things will turn around for them. I'd say if they get the runs this week it will be the turning point of the season and they will be very hard to beat from then on.

Ha ha. That day a few of the footy club boys were there, they were the ones getting stuck into you. It's alright for them, coz they don't have to get out there and face the music themselves! But yeah, you and big Jason have always been favourites of the Berwick supporters!

As we have discussed Train, a few away games may help; geee never thought I would ever say that. Played two 20/20 games at home, lost both, played round 1 and 3 at home lost, this round at home chasing 270odd and played round 2 away and won. I say we need to Travel.

Is it a little bit of human nature for the berwicks boys to not gel together as well as other sides, cause as individual cricketers they are all pretty much stars? Prendergast is bowling 2nd change which i recon deep down he wouldnt be happy. They all prob good mates but as cricketers may clash a little in battle.

I think i need my eyes checked, coz i'm positive that i have read at least two genuinely serious posts from 2O2S about Berwick....

btw, you are spot on with the above post. A lot of good individual players playing together who are much more used to demanding where they bowl or bat rather than getting put where the coach tells them too. It will always take a while to gel, but i reckon when it does look out! I certainly wouldn't be writing them off yet but they do have a lot of work to do to.
