Prince I saw that car at Harold Rd yesterday when we were bringing in our covers at the days end. It was parked over by the nets and was the SIKINK plates that really stood out and drew my attention to it. After taking in the covers I had a quick shower, grabbed a beer, camera and a pad and pencil to take evidence of the culprit so you can organise some heavies to teach this bloke a lesson about knocking off your car, but mate unfortunately he was gone. Close but....sorry.
I didn't quite see who this guy was but let me tell you there are a couple of new rules in the DDCA this season that you should be aware of:
1. A minimum of 62 overs must be bowled at 5pm for both captains to be able to call the game and go drink beer. After a rethink this was changed to a minimum of 60 overs. 2. If a ball flicks the pad and no shot is offered and runs are pending, this is a dead ball oh hang on no it's not it's runs: scorers change my decission it's definately runs. Oh hang on a minute, sorry bowler: Scorers I am reverting back to my original decission: It's a dead ball.
You might want to make yourself of these new rules as it caused all sorts of pandemonium for all concerned yesterday.
If anyones seen a statesman with the number plates SIKINK and they please notify me? Thanks.
I have an update on sikink. After much conversation with the said man it is in fact a member of the family who owns this car and not who we think. This then led to a conversation about carburettors, exhausts, manifolds and extractors. I couldnt belive the passion. The whole conversation was with a Jim Beam in hand of course and finished with the "hand shake" to cap it off.
That made up a little for the dodgy no ball i copped after the ball had been hit to point and was in the keepers glove i hear this "no ball". Ive turned and said are we on 7 second delay or somethen.
Sobers the big woos didnt wont to tread on any toes so he toed the old captains line.
I was too busy giggling because you said "you can't call a no ball after iv'e bowled it" too which Ben Goodey replied "well he can't call it before you've bowled it"

I should have rephrased that with "you cant call a no-ball after i have bowled it and 3 blokes have shined it and thrown in to the keeper as well.
Mind you im sure he could if we gave him a Jack Palance
i finally get the pleasure of meeting neil on saturday at parkfield, hopefully he does a couple of hot laps around the bike track in SIKINK at tea, i'll be staying home tomorrow night to fine tune my slap punch handshake so i can keep up with him

It's an experience Woofa. As preparation is one of the 6 "P's" you will benefit greatly from staying home and working on the hand shake. Remember it starts off with the stock standard 180 degree palm press with medium grip then it spirals 90 degrees upward into the classic arm wrestle position and finishes off with the forearm shimmy. The shimmy is all important and can be a trap for young players so it is wise to concerntrate right till the end. Best of luck, enjoy the experience and I expect a full debrief by Monday night.
also to you SS T4 boys good luck with bobby fraser, make sure you dont get hit on the pads
Woofa, if I was you I'd me more concerned about getting hit on the pads with 2Pac Aldred umpiring. In his own words " I don't care if the ball pitched a foot outside leg stump it was still hitting middle and off".
The forums favourite ump didn't roll up til arvo tea today cos sikink decided to blow up on the way, he didn't dissapoint when he hot there though with a couple of gnarly handshakes
