Is an umpire allowed to order a batsman off the field if he starts throwing cut lunches at a fieldsman?

I had a tiff with a fella today who reckons they can..........

No.

Suggested action would be to ask his captain to have the batsman retire if the captain was smart otherwise the game could be abandoned by the umpire if they felt threatened by the batsman.

Reports would also be made on batsman and possibly captain if he didn't ask batsman to retire. Captain for failing to control his player.

Only my opinion but possibly the best way of handling it.

Further to that it would be very important to confiscate the cut lunch and eat the contents while enjoying the cricket at square leg every 2nd over. Umpiring is a hungary game, thank god Springy South has those strawberry creams lollys that come out at drinks.

Prince, I caught up with Neil Aldred today after your little tiff you had with him and he said he doesn't give a sh1t about Mick Lewis' rep about been a madman. If players want to get into him when he is batting thats fair game. Neil said if Mick can't handle the heat he shouldn't play with fire cause he will get burnt in the kitchen.

What was the suggested action the night haymakers were being thrown at another umpire (JK) outside the umpires room?

Rob Wilson from MMs bowled (chucked) pies and he was never asked to leave the field. If its good enough for him why cant the bateman?
