Is the reign of Geelong coming to a end? or has it all ready happened?
G.Ablett off to GC17
M.Thompson has had enough and needs a brake!
Brad Ottens looks done and there next best ruckman is Tomahawk who has gone past Blake! Blake wants out!
Chapman is carrying a wealth of Injuries!
Some old senior champions are starting to look slow and vunerable, Milburn, Scarlett, Enright etc
What does the future hold for Geelong, make no mistakes 2 premierships in 4 years we all would love to have that happen, a credit to the club and the playing group and the coaching stuff but is it over??

Good call Beav!
Come on Prince great footballers and by all reports well worthy of there AA selection.
I base my judgement on Geelong and it's quest to go all the way in 2011........and seeing Milburn, Enright and Scarlett in the finals though whilst they won the ball in the St.kilda and Collingwood games they looked sluggish and slow to make quick decisions.
Scarlett needs to be able to play off his opponet to have the impact he is capable of and against the good sides they make him more accountable and he gets caught either been to defensive that geelong lose his run and rebound power or too attacking that he gets hurt on the rebound.
Milburn and Enright are getting on and still are class players who will continue to look brilliant against all sides except for the teams that create good defensive pressure and close there space, both these players need time and space which in the past they have been quick enough to find or have had there space opened for them. I just think they are finding that space less frequent these days and are having to make quick decisions to move the ball which seems to be resulting in quick handballs to team mates also under pressure.
Chappy is a star and just needs a clean up and will be back bigger then ever, but if he has another inj plagued year then Geelong are in trouble as Steve Johnson has also fallen off the radar and is a shadow of his former self. Maybe guilty of having all ready answered his critics and has lost the drive to work hard and create opportunites for others.
If Bomber goes can the new incoming coach whether Hinkley or Richardson pick up were Bomber left off and have the same impact with the playing group Bomber did. I would say unlikely. When Ross Lyon took over from Thomas St.Kilda played in a prelim for 3 years in out of 5 and in Lyons 1st year in charge St.Kilda finished 9th. so from prelim previous year to 9th, then in his 2nd year in charge we finished 3rd so it shows a new change of coach in a good side maybe mean a step back instantly.
Just my thoughts, not asking for anyone to agree with me!

That's now three 2010 All Australians you've thrown in the has been bin. You're on fire!

Nothing to do with all the injuries you had in that year simply a change of coach
"Pup" im not convinced we can go all the way in 2011. But i dont beleive we will have a major crash either. i may be biased but we do have some quality young players on our list who will now get there chance. Remains to be seen. We need to definately tweek our game plan to keep up with the rest. I suupose now we will be the hunter and not the huntered any more.
It will be a massive challange to see how they play without Gazza he won more games for us then i think the players beleive.
Maybe we need to finish bottom so we can really benefit from gazza leaving.
im absoulutely shattered he has left i understand all the cash he is getting but **** the afl for making it easy for him.

I agree 100% pal.
I think gor what it is worth i think the cats will finish 4-8 and will play finals football. Unless as you said they come up with a new game plan!
PA I think after yesterday more work needs to be done at St Kilda.
How will the players get up after losing 3 grand finals in a row, 4 if you count the Pre Season ? What will happen to the passengers from yesterday ? What is Nick and a lot of others Mental frame of mind ? Is Nick the man to lead them after his effots yesterday ? Is it time for players like Koschitzke,Montagna and Milne ?

1. Your right St.kilda need some changes 2. Well they will struggle Geelong lost 4 before they won one but that was a different group of players and it was only 2 grand finals as one was a draw 3. There were alot of passengers yesterday so hardly able to do much apart from improve 4. Nick like all of them will be mentally shattered and it will motivate them eventually until finals next year were the Demons will reappear again 5. Nick is the man yes, credit to Collingwood yesterday for getting numbers on him Nick always had two opponents on him all day and the delivery was poor also for any forward for St.Kilda 6. Koschitzke is struggling but everyone seems to think in the football world he is best suited in the ruck apart from the coaching staff, yes he played in the ruck yesterday but should have taken the bulk of the work against Jolly. Milne is hit and miss and for the career he has carved for himself he has done well, many passengers down yesterday and Montagna was disappointing need more from him
St.Kilda need another forward so Kosi can play ruck, Gilbert needs to go forward now as Gwilt has stood up so Gilbert can go forward. We need to target Alwyn Davey or some indegionous quick player to help our forwards out. And we need to get as much game time into Stanley and McEvoy and hope they come on and can only get better. No need for drastic changes, but clearly our game plan needs ajusting so we can be a bigger force and we need to work heavily over our skills also as grafting games out in finals football does not always work. Collingwood were clearly slicker yesterday but were we bad due to percieved pressure???
