No White. What a joke.

My first test line up in batting order.

Watson
Katich
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
White
Haddin
Smith
Johnson
Siddle
Hilfanhaus

Pick Siddsy purely on giving the side a bit of spirit. Give him 2 tests and if he's going no good replace him with Bollinger or Harris. Same goes for Hussey, but can be replaced by one of the two young bats, not North.

They have to give Smith a go now. Been a bit of supporter of Hauritz's but i think his time may have come. If the spinner is struggling with the ball, Ponting needs to use Clarke and Katich a lot more. Watson also needs to bowl more, although it can be a tough gig after opening the batting.

In saying all that, this is what they'll probably go with in Brisbane.

Watson
Katich
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
North
Haddin
Johnson
Hauritz
Hilfanhaus
Bollinger

Why do we have to play a specialist spinner if we dont have 1 capable enough for test cricket? Pick your 4 best bowlers and if there all quicks so be it. North is there abouts compared to Hauritz, so play the 4 quicks. Hussey can stay and have his farewell tour.

mcdonald can "slow" it down and get better figures than hauritz or smith. will also contribute more with the bat. can't have hussey and north in the same side any longer. white should be in and be the next captain in all forms of the game.

I'm not sure White is good enough for test cricket , Captain one days and 20/20s leave Clarke play and captain tests only....

I gave him the benefit of the doubt 4 years ago and even thought maybe I was been a bit harsh in the last series, but I am now convinced that Panesar is a homo. The way he minces about the playing field would have me a little concerned in the showers.

And as for that Pakistani playing for England, Shahzam or whoever he is, I can't see him winning many adoring Australian fans or fans in general. A little too hypo for mine.

You are right Gooch, there are a lot of hypo people in Australia but I would rather see him save his energy and meaningless stares and bouncers at number 11's for the big stage.....If he is good enough.

If our first choice attack had played today you wouldn't have got 120.

Mate, would of been overjoyed with 120....You see our "batsmens" scores today in the shield games. This series is Englands to loose.

Woofa, don't get wrong I hope we win 5-0 but the poms are fair dinkum for the first time over here for years. Better prepared, more settled line up and, quite frankly, playing better cricket.

I think it's too close to call all things considered.

Don't get too carried away with form. It's like a derby at football. The team that wants it most will win.

England @ 3.25 is outrageously good value.

Yes Goochy......waiting to see the 1st test squad. If they go with the tried and tested of whom most are out of form i may have a crack at that $3.25.

Bollinger has to play imo he is our best bowler & Ferguson should get a game ahead of Kawaja!
