Clubs are requested to nominate ready and available players that meet the selection criteria as follows -
1. Players must be currently playing turf in the DDCA
2. Touring members must agree to all DDCA and tour requirements
3. Touring members to be responsible for all individual costs, including travel insurance
After collecting club nominations, the DDCA selection committee will then meet and choose the touring squad.
Expressions of interest from non-playing personnel will also be considered. (The DDCA has the right to limit the number of touring persons).
All nominations (playing & non-playing) are to be forwarded to Craig Slocombe, on behalf of the DDCA Selection Committee, at craigslocombe@telstra.com before 14th January 2011.
Still a few spots left for the trip. Looking to confirm numbers within the next 2 weeks. Only looking for confo at this stage, full payment due at a later stage. Cheers.
7 confirmed starters so far with a minimum of 12 required and a max of 15. players don't have to be turf 1 of course prince. we have a current turf 2 bloke as one of the 7.
good question. we have had some confusion over this. a player can nominate himself or be nominated by his club. also any player can nominate himself, he doesn't have to be selected by by the ddca selection committee. if more than 15 nominate then the selection committee will select a squad out of that. so basically anyone can go really. unless of course there are more than 15 nominations of availability. there are still some spots left. hope this clears it all up.
