Friday / Saturday Night Cricket

In some country towns, they play a game of the round at night (1 dayer ) and they get some good crowds.  Do we have any grounds that you could play night cricket at and if so, does anyone think it would be a good idea instead of the sunday game??

Doveton have a new set of lights that would be good enough for night cricket, would get big crowds I reckon but I can't see it happening with not enough clubs having good enough lights

They used to do it at Springvale a long time ago. They were great nights with special guest players as well.

I might be wrong but the DDCA can't approve night cricket due to all the grounds not having strong enough lights. I think Woof that this includes Doveton. My mail was the new lights are not quite up to standard. (great lights though)

The idea is a ripper

I think the light issue comes down to insurance with safety etc . The lights must be a certain level to comply

We only need one ground to do this! I'm sure all teams would be happy to play a game @ doveton as a neutral game if the lights were satisfactory. You would only schedule a couple of games a year and it would be rotational.
