Seeing Sir set up a stand-alone segment for a nobody (me) and the capt/coach of the Bears, it is only fitting that Slocs, a titan at his club (so much so that some at other clubs believe he quietly runs the DDCA) should also have a dedicated segment.

Mick Hawkin had better watch his ''hosts'' chair on the DDCA Radio Show after Slocs' performance this morning. Sage comments and picking Moose up on ''John'' K, among other things, showed the great one was on the ball. But then he needs to known all the good players names for when he goes recruiting!

slocs, i wasn't planning on posting over the holiday break but just seen a bloke you should try and recruit for next season. should come cheaper than the butler. he's a massive 216 cm tall ( 7ft 1in for the old farts in their lingo) and was bowling left arm heat (145) opening the bowling for pakis against india in first T20. commentators satted the obvious: mohammad irfan is the tallest cricketer ever to play in an international t20. pakis just keep churning out big left arm quicks ... and this guy will take some beating. i can picture him steamin in at harold road and causing havoc. reckon your charm will get him over the line for the bloods.

Yes it was a bad day for us. Kudos so far to the opposition.

Kudos so far to the opposition.

Does that mean you expect a reverse outright?

comeon tgo, you were on her a few minutes ago but didn't oblige. Bashful? I looked and found 11 tons for you on the Springy list. does that include saturdays effort at the cave or any on your travels elsewhere?

I've warned you before about stalking peckerhead. Use your time more wisely than on here other than following my life. Maybe use your irongloves and chase down the culprits that stitched up lashy. To answe your question, I don't keep count of 100's. but I can recall 5 flags.

ultimate team guy! ha ha.

can't help it if your name keeps bobbing up. Take today's Leader for example. The heading infers that you had been sitting down until the visit to the cave. (interesting pic of your close mate and pr spokesman at first slip; looks like he was giving his keeper a hand.)

nah, not quirkiness. i thought you sacked him long ago for not doing enough. your payment cheques should be posted to cho at  the cave. He has said more nice things about you than everyone else put together.

TGO, I didn't want to clog up your new topic elsewhere regarding the Sri Lanka trip so I'm responding here:

Itinerary looks great. Particularly disappointed to miss out on "all catered for" knees up to celebrate your birthday, so early best wishes.

But one thing in the following line has got me confused: "Thursday 16th May: Play 3rd match ( T20 game) at N.C.C in Colombo. Evening party to celebrate Sloc's 40th. All catered for."

How come you get to celebrate your 40th twice?

(On a historical note, seeing the Pope announced this week that he'll be retiring at the end of the month, did you know that you share your birthday with the the day the bastard son of Octavius was elected pope in 955? In cricketing terms, Bradman scored a double century against the MCC and Ray Lindwall scored a century in a different year, both on your birthday. All in all, an auspicious day in both the Roman and cricketing calendas for you. So you see, with you papal linkeage, you have enjoyed devine intercession and were destined to score hundreds, even if your modesty prevents you from remembering how many!)

You can't light no more of your darkness
All your efforts were for the red and white
You're growing tired and time stands still before you
Frozen there on the DDCA ladder at No 5
Too late to make the finals
You took a chance and changed your winning ways
You put too many eggs in the butler's basket
Closed the door and were blinded by the light
Don't let the sun go down on you
Although you search yourself, it's always someone else you see
Just allow a moment for reflection
Even if losing today is losing everything
Don't let the sun go down on you

Apologies to Bernie Taupin

Perhaps wordsmith, you should spend more time looking up the ladder and results and less time bastardising other's songs.

GDLS, I can read a ladder as well as anyone and widely discussed the fact that the bloods had defined the odds to get into the f4 before I left my club and posted last night. The whole purpose of the stirr, especially on TGO's personal little subject themesite was to see how many of you blokes really cared about this forum on the basis that a razz such as a silly song would be sure to draw out bloods supporters by the hordes. but now, waiting to reply nearly 24 hours later, its just lonesome you (and the carrot man, who at least has had a go and deserves kudos. see direct reply to him on DDCA section).

hey tgo, remember my querry in feb re the number of 100s you've scored and you were bashful? i looked up your club stats and it said 11 ... but guess what? just looked again and its changed to 16! does that mean you corrected your stats man or he's corrected himself? don't be so bashful next time (faux humility does not become you) because they are great numbers (seeing i never managed even one in lower grades).
