Where has Fridge gone wrong?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/england/1755752.stm

Going back a few years, he was on the verge of superstardom. Check out the link and see some of the names he played with. Ok, he took some stick with the ball in this game, but I've always thought he was a better bat.

Now he finds himself stuck in league cricket and in need of some inspiration.

Come on guys, let's help him out. Any suggestions as to how Al can get back to playing amongst the big boys?

I think moving in with me last year was the worst decision of his cricketing career. He now concentrates on drinking and chasing skirt more than his cricket. I'll take all the blame.

He should not be playing in this comp for starters. I know the extra cash helps but if he is really fair dinkem about getting the best out of himself he should be playing district cricket against the best possible cricketers. I think Danny played 3 or so seasons for essendon when he first started out over here in aus and im sure it helped his cricket when he was playing back at home.

I have to agree with 2o2s on this one Gooch. District cricket is the comp Fridge should be playing in to improve his cricket. Your his best mate Goochy, advise him to go to district cricket next season for his own good.

Goochy you are the one who asked for opinions and once you got them you say that he is old enough to know what he wants?

So why did you post it? Was that an attempt at humour Paul? If so, that topic should've been started in Argy Bargy it's all very serious on here.

I had no big plans for the thread Jarrod. I just threw it out there with an open mind.

As things stand, it could still go either way.

I apologise for the ambiguous nature of my post.

His biggest problem is he was born in England Goochy.
Sth Africa,Zimbabwe,Pakistan...anywhere else and he would be playing for England right now.
Seriously though i agree with Terrible he should be playing district cricket here if he wants to play top level at home.

Maybe take a break, atleast to xmas.
discover some passion for the game, he has probably played to much cricket and has lost some drive.
When we are 21 22 we can play cricket for ever and a day but at 25 you realise its not the be all end all.
He could go and play golf or some poker.
Or another option lock into that hot bird mrs number 8 in OZ for good so he does not have to chase skirt.

Rubbish. I'd play every day if I could and he loves playing too.

He's played none stop for 5 years and averaged about 70 in that time. He's in a slight drought but nothing more.

didn't see him bowl but looked pretty good for a bit when batting. Went out to a 3/4 tracker which he'd be cursing himself about.
