Prince....Porkys, what a movie and we all pi'ssed ourselves and cringed at the same time in that scene.

That movie was pretty riskae in its time.......today it would be a family movie. How times have changed.

What a great test match, which capped a fantastic test series. Who said test cricket was dead??

By the way, pretty good declaration by Ponting in the end hey.....hindsight is a wonderful thing.

FT, everything you said at the end of day 4 you got wrong....haha that's funny. How much brass did you do on the game?

Train/Fridge.......nothing i said i got wrong. It was in relation to my bet on the draw. I thought that he would declare half an hour before stumps so Aust could not lose as a draw would still see them stay on top of the world rankings and i got it wrong. But declaring as early as he did left the door slightly ajar for RSA. If you had read an earlier post i told Goochy to stand in the queue to collect his winnings on Aust winning as thats what i thought would happen at that stage.

I lost $30 Train. If the draw happened i had a 5 way multi with the draw the last leg to collect $750. After Ponting declared i had $10.00 on SA at $21.00 and $10 also on Devilliers for Hi Score AT $9.00. If the draw happened and the hi score i would've pocketed $840 not a bad bet but just didn't pan out. Just slightly out in my judgement.

And Fridge i won $400 on RSA winning in Melbourne for a $50 at $8.00investment.....not bad for a bloke who knows nothing about cricket as you put it.

FT. Why didnt you lay off harder on the rsa and aust. you were set to win $750. if you say had $50 on rsa at $21 and $200 on aust at $1.50 (if they were that low), i dont think you could lose. total outlay $260 and worse return you could have got was $300.
I might be wrong as its early on a friday morning

Beaver, Porkys just shades Nerds in my opinion. G Train reminds me very much of young Peewee Morris, waking up in the morning and going straight for the ruler.

Coatails in hindsight i could of. But i can never see the sense in investing that sort of money at those odds. $50 on RSA would be a waste when i couldn't really see it happening. The $10 i had on them was more a throw away if anything but at $21 i couldn't resist it. Aust at that stage was only $1.63 at not worth betting on as my original investment was only $10 and wasn't going to lose any sleep over that...but would've been a great investment if it panned out my way.

I can tell you mult's are the way to go .... small investments for a great return but must be prepared to lose a few which you can if the bets small.

i don't get why people gamble. Sheesh. i'm not much of a punter and when i do i lose so i havent had the winning feeling which i am guessing is why you keep doing it.

ft. it is an investment and not a gamble. $1.63 is plenty to get you in to a win/win situation because of your multi bet odds. (which must of come from your great cricket knowledge)

If you are a winning gambler (which by your comments, you are implying Rob is) then techinically, by laying off a bet, you are actually costing yourself money. You are reducing your overall positive expectation.

As Rob is not a winning gambler, he did the right thing!

gooch. dont want to sound smart, but FT thought that aust. were going to win (by his comment about you lining up for your winnings). and he actually lost money where he could have won. he did get close though and had he gone the "lay off" option, he would have been spewing had they held on.

Coatails yes in a multi $1.63 is great odds but it wasn't what i backed so its moot point.

And no point in laying off on such a small outlay. To get my $10.00 back i'd have to invest $20 to get the $10 back with a small profit ... no sense in that.

You got it wrong mate. Beaver is not a regular bowler. One of the lads didnt turn up so that allowed us to draft in gun player AB Moldrich. He is available for the rest of the season too which is great news for us.
Yeah, me and Tex took a pasting. I hold my hands up - I let the side down.
Great performance from the rest of the boys though and we nearly pulled off a marvelous win.

I find it quite amusing how quick everyone has jumped on me for 3 bad overs (my first only went for a single!). You've waited nearly 2 years for this moment I guess and BOOM! all of you are posting within minutes of it going on results vault. That means you must all check how I do week after week and week after week you have had nothing you could pick holes in! :)

I can't let you use those 3 overs to draw attention from a top effort from our team. Excellent batting and bowling performances from several players. Well done guys.

HSD look a great outfit though. The pro looked exceptionally talented.
