open hopes, warner is nothing but a slogger and will not last long at international level. Remember, there is a reason he has never play a 1st class game.
I would open Hussey and Marsh. Warner is a slogger at the moment and may well end up being a good player but not yet. Needs to prove it a bit more at domestic level.
The reason is he is 22, and 3 years ago before 20/20 selectors for state cricket would have said he can't play Shield cricket batting like that. Gilchrist set a precedent and changed Cricket at his time, Warner needs to bat 15 overs with field restrictions and could win you games. Plenty of sides open up with a basher to try and take advantage of the field up the windies and Gayle, Jayasuriya, Sehwag and i am not saying Warner is in there class but lets see games can be still won from 1/0. My only critiscim is when there is a bowling change block the first one instead of smacking it for 6 see if he is swinging it, Warner does not do that.

spot on gooch. any blow joe of the street could rock up and slog and get lucky a percentage of times. its crazy to thing that this guy would be successful on a regular basis
Have you guys got rocks in your head, any joe blow. A T1 cricketer. Ricky Ponting the best bat in the world in some eyes and A.Gilchrist at his best have not done anything to that effect against the best bowling attack in the world next to Australia on the biggest ground in the world. You guys are not giving him enough credit, i mean someone might and i mean might fluke 30 runs but not 89 off 43.

I sort of agree goochy. But your a tad harsh on him. It was exciting and he does look a good prospect, just not at international level in anything over 20 overs.
Beav, please leave Chris Gayle, Sanath Jayusuria and Verendah Sehwag out of the same sentence as this young fella at this point in time. Gayle bats through innings, he's not just a slogger. That's why he is captain of his country's test team. I'm pretty sure the other two have played a bit of test cricket too. I can half see the point you were trying to make but bad examples to use.
