This **** is scary for a soft pom!!

Just had to get in touch with Goodsey as it looked like the flames were very close to his house. Hope everything is ok and I haven't panicked him unnecessarily.

Very smoky up here in Emerald.

Goochy you got this site: www.cfa.vic.gov.au ? Good for fire updates etc. ABC radio is doing a 24 hours emergency service too. Horrible, horrible day.

I'm listening to ABC now. Just really freaky to actually see flames 2 minutes after leaving my house.

Gotta be very careful up your neck of the woods. A lot of these fires have been travelling very quickly. Stay safe!

Nah, I live in Narre mate. I drove right past the fire in Narre North on my way up to my girlfriends in Emerald. Thats why I rang Goodsey

Seems ok up here at the minute.

Maybe not my smartest move though. She lives in a wooden house literally surrounded by huge trees!

Oh OK. Lovely place Emerald, but wouldnt want to be there on days like this. Apparently there's a fire going out the back of Narre Noth right now.

boom tish! quite amusing, it's a real sad that people out there fighting fires are losing their lives - how severe is the punishment for arson?

I have it on good authority, that this weeks DDCA games will continue as per normal.
With extreme heat conditions to come into play, ie extra drinks brakes & towels & drinks on Ice near the boundry etc.

Good result cricket will be the winner.

Good information Beaver. Stick to what you do best, talking drivel (although I suppose that's what your comment was!)

Ha ha you guys are easy to wined up, how would i know what Ray thinks when he probably does not know.

I would like to extend appreciation towards the Fire Fighters and what they do to save homes and lives paid or volunteers they are remarkable.
That heat was zapping and tough work, and some of those pictures of the Fires on the box were scarey as all hell.
Probably the closes thing we could get to Hell on earth.

11 fires across the state, Squirell and half of them would've been lit by those f'ucking dickhe'ads. 25 dead up to now.....charge them with murder 1 st degreee if you ask me. Bring back capital punishment i reckon  and send them to the chair.

I can't beleive 25 people have died these fires must have been moving at incredible speeds, I think the DDCA made a good decision not to play yesterday but I think maybe in hind sight the juniors shouldn't have played. We lost all four toss's in the Jnrs and there were some very irate parents, (especially when they found out the seniors wern't allowed to play). I think there were a few games where common sense wasn't used. I am not blaming anyone but maybe if we have a forecast of over 40 jnr's should be canned.

i agree FT, had a few boys over yesterday having a swim and a few stubbs, then all this smoke came from no where, got out the pool and went out the front to see smoke coming from narre sth somewhere. ended up being 2kms away but very freaky it was.

The houses that burnt down are only 6 doors down from my house. I got a call yesterday to go home and check my joint while I was on the drink with the boys. The place was chaos and it was very sad to see what had happened, hit's home pretty hard when it's nearly on your own front door step. My house is full of ash at the moment.

I don't think we could even imagine what they went through Gooch.

Thank god for your sake, someone was looking over you.
Did you have insurance on your place, not thats the issue but not every family gets it and some people who have had there houses taken from there have nothing.
