Our pom arrived yesterday, when he got to customs they asked: "where will you be staying?"
He replied "Victoria!"
Straight through!!!!

Obviously its not too hard to get in!

Can confirm narre nths import wont be coming due the the crackdown by the government. We were told that the Sri lankans can only come over as professional cricketers and had to earn $16,000 or more for the six months. Also told that customs would check with the league how much the salary cap is in the comp and if there was a breach big fines issued. Dissapointing they will all be a loss to the comp.

I agree Bod, it's a blow for the comp.

On the other hand Lyndale have got excactly what they deserve for shafting the Pom they had lined up.........

I've been told that all lankans and indians were not given the visa's due to some dodgy dealings with a few of them in the  past. This is apparently Australia wide.

Some poor form from immigration though as I hear that they kept telling our club that 'it's coming' in relation to Carman, but kept giving us the runaround until just recently when they said it was declined.

Doesn't really leave you with much time to chase anyone else or make other plans.
