Personally I would like to see a game on it, but I would prefer to play on a dodgey rather than not play at all.

Who knows though, it could come up and probably will, just might not look the greatest.

Not to many wickets look great at this time of year though.

everyone knows that the majority of wickets/grounds are not quite fit for cricket due to the hold up in preparations with last weeks weather. for god sake suck it up and have a quality one day game next week. logic.

Craig speaks alot of sense.

We don't wont Rd1 to be decided on the toss of the coin allowing one team to get the better batting conditions week 2, because in the long run it may cost someone a finals spot or relegation or even a double chance.

No double chance in Finals for 1 & 2 Slocs, i am used to 1 v 2 loser plays winner of 3 & 4.

Fair point beav but that can happen in any round if it pisses down late in the week why should round 1 be any different.

I would feel worse if the comp came down to 6 one dayers 1 washout

and only 4 matches decided over the full (160 overs)

if games can get away i say give them a chance b4 being to carefull

Some finals formats are.

1 v 2
3 v 4

the loser of 1 v 2 get the double chance & play the winner of 3 v 4, the loser of the 3 v4 game is eliminated from the finals.

Were the winner or 1 v 2 goes to the semi with a week off to play there next opponent.

Ha ha (timidly) my old comp Craig, i was not sure of the DDCA format i guess i just assumed it worked that way because i was used to it for 15 years.
It just allows the 2 best sides the luxury of a week of if they win or a double chance if they lose.

So what is the DDCA format.

1 v 4
2 v 3

Winners play in GF

point taken pringles as we want to play as much cricket as we can. but as it being round 1 the wickets/grounds must surely be under prepared. further on into the season as you speak about, the wickets are well and truly set and covers would be used as to keep them in a playable shape.
