He was probably yanking your chain. Sounds like a flog anyway from what you were saying. I like it how as soon as he said my name you turned the light off upstairs ha ha

last night the wicket at park oval was a belter! Rained in pakenham over night but i don't think there was any rain in dandenong so fingers crossed it holds off today before the covers go down.
In regards to 'bad wickets' in my experience the wicket always plays better than it looks, too many people get psyched out, you know how all the comments go but they rarely live up to the expectation but blokes get bowled out anyway because the've spent the last 2 hrs stressing about how bad it will play.
Obviously though common sense must prevail in the circumstances where wickets are virtually un playable.....
Basically DDCA have got a group of people doing a mock trial run of the potential new format THE POINTS SYSTEM instead of the salary cap, they will basically using the games this year work out a format to put forward for the following year they will just be using this years games to work out how it should be set up. That is how i took it.
beaver i know all that, but i understand a club may have been asked by a ddca member to prove that they are compling with rule 7.
You obviously have the inside info Sir. I can confirm we have been asked to appear before the DDCA on Monday night. Not very happy about it and haven't decided whether we will attend or not. Not sure if we are the only club asked. Looks like they have it in for us and our recruits in their "twilight years" (thanks Cam). Jimmy and Matty almost finished at 32!
Sir, I had to admit it but Ernie done you like a dinner here last night. Hopefully the boys get stuck into you about that.
Number 1, pull ya head in mate. Pringles hasn't said anything for you to jack up about at all. And he's never hidden who he is. Lovely bloke and hard worker from Berwick, so give it a rest. Relax!

Surely common sense will prevail here , in the VTCA they went through all of the clubs in the top division and the team that had the most points was the bench mark for the whole comp for the following season taking into account that 1 point would be deducted for each player for the season prior to the points system being introduced , thus giving you a further 11 points in your cap and enabling you to go out and recruit further players taking into consideration that an overseas player is worth 8 points and someone for example form a turf 1 team that you recruit would be worth say 6 points so you would be able to recruit 1 possibly 2 players a season depending upon what you have in your cap already .
its the first time its been introduced in the Vtca and i will keep you updated if you would like as to how its working out but at this stage its doing the job , all the clubs are for it and there has been a lot of positive feedback , the proof will however be in the pudding !!
it will take away a lot of needless and mindless banter about whos getting paid x amount of $'s etc etc ,everyone will be in the same boat so do yourselves and your club a favour and dont be jealous of the so called bigger more succesful clubs , maybe instaed take a look in the mirror and say what do we need to do better to get to that level , how can we better our club through attracting new sponsors , players and the running of our juniors and having awesome social functions that will inturn raise revenue to help run our club better so we can compete with other clubs , instead of bitching maybe get off your arses and do something about it for a change !!!
its no coincidence that a club like Springvale south has had the success it has , this is down to one thing and its simple its a very well run club with good honest hard working people that put in the hours and love the club .
anyway thats enough of my little spiel good luck to everyone at the bloods this year !!!

The batsman get the best of the conditions approx 90% of the time, then sook up like little girls when the wicket looks like it might do a little. Toughen up batsman and play.
