heard a rumor the sri lankan under 19 side (currently playing australia in darwin) will be playing a twenty20 game at harold rd on thursday 15th of october. playing against a combined team of young dandenong stars and young ddca stars. should be some fine talent on show. full details to come.
I see this as an excellent recruiting opportunity for all DDCA clubs. I would suggest to sign players up on this night for current value of the Aussie Dollar to play in 5 years at your club because in 5 years they:
-Have played U/19 for Sri Lanka -Would of played U/21 and U/23 for Lanka -Played for Sri Lanka A and toured with the the 1sts to Bangladesh -Sub fielded in a Test match and a ODI -Had a contract for Lanka, but just never made it -Definately has a cousin who made it.
In 5 years time, the problems with VISA's should be ironed out and your club would have recruited a decent 1st class cricketer at a lower price!! There will be recruiting tables set up at Harold Rd and plenty of black pens as I'm sure there will be legal documents that will need to be signed.
i belive tim ford, matt darvell, jackson coleman, wilcox, hillard, robbie johnston from coomoora, possibly dylan quirk to keep. thats all i've heard so far.
Good work by you talking up this young bloke Beav, hope he can handle the pressure you've just put on him......good work coach.
It was in reference to u/19 game were i was merely suggesting he could equip himself very well. That has no barring on what he does at Turf1 level as i assume the standard is day and light apart.

No worries. I just thought that puting his name up in lights here may bring more attention to him that is really needed. I doubt anyone will call him 'Golden Boy' or 'Coach's Pet' when he strides to the crease now that you have cleared that up...........

Correct Slocs. Even though day light savings is in place, the amount of light isn't yet as much as it will be later in the year so you would want to get through your overs or you will be finishing the game in broad darkness.
