He was in good form. He got there nice and early and parked the Datsun 180b with the rotary engine and the Bose sound system with the subwoofer blasting out The Bay City Rollers under the shade of the trees near the nets so no one could launch one and put a dint in a panel. He then ventured into the rooms and I was presented with the gnarliest handshake ever! It started off with the stock standard 180 degree palm press with a medium grip and then it twisted 90 degrees upwards into the arm wrestling position with the little forearm shimmy. It is fair to say he had a good 78 overs but couldn't quite finish the day off with the full 80 as he had a momentary lapse of concerntration and got his rules confused with some old ones. Poor bugger needed a Jimmy can to winde down after all the commotion..
That's it Rocky! Very good description of the handshake haha. Mine had the old pull in towards him aswell.. bitta chest action. Was good.
After a bit of thinking he came into our rooms and I think he wanted to go out.. asked if our openers were still there. They'd packed up and gone in the cars by then. Didn't believe us so went out to check the carpark haha.

Why did the boys leave so quickly Ringo , we have sensed some fear in your ranks
Can someone tell me the "scheduled cessation time" . It is referred to in about 5 or 6 DDCA Rules. I think it might cause the confusion that "Buzz" suffered.
Not real sure what was said but Lyndales Mr Ciconte was very close and may have been putting the idea into the umps head to pull the stumps out. Making a point to all that the stumps had been pulled (day over).

What i thought was funny is the Nicko had just turned up after a day at the races and when we quizzed him for the ruling he definately said we had to bowl the 2 overs.
He then went over to Neil and told him so. About ten minutes later Neil comes up to me and says who this bloke anway that thinks he nows all the rules and i said Neil that Is Ray Nicholls DDCA secratary. Neil went a little white.
He then told me at the bar that Ray gave him the third degree on umpire rules and that he would be umpiring for managatang 3rds next game.
I've had him umpire me in footy PM.. does not get past a walk. If the ball gets to the wing and is lodged under a pack won't call ball up for a good minute. Can't stand walking over to toss the thing up.
He gave me the handshake after the game yesterday, thought it was pretty cool for a bloke his age.
whats the go here ??????

Wasn't fear Quirky was a fair while after stumps had been pulled and come into the rooms. We asked him what the go was and he said "I've made my decision. End of play. Yous can go". That was that.. then I think he changed his mind even after that.
