it was very clear who wanted to play and who didnt. i understand you lot where scared , thats fine. just a word of advice, fix the holes in your covers your club wont look as stupid as it is.
did i say it was there fault for the covers bob no but we had to bat on it not them it was worst for us they would take 3pts instead of trying to get 6pts
the only wet spot was where the bowlers front foot lands, tell the whole story, the deck was fine,

They havent lost a game. Why would they want to play a 50/50 game( thats in the balance) when they cruising on top of ladder. Its your clubs responsability to provide a wicket.
This is not me being smart towards mordi, its just what most skippers would do
interesting reading, if it was only the crease why not just put some sawdust down????? how bad was it????? in england we play in the pissing down rain sawdust everywhere and we get on with it.
yer there was a wet patch we worked on it got a industrial heater on it and it would of been fine to bowl on you berwick knobs are weak as piss did not want to play from the time you guys rock up. we would of played at 2 if we were bowling . PS; **** FORM DONT EVEN COME IN FOR A BEER
Why the Faark would anyone come in for a beer with you blokes.
1st off you want to be taken seriously as a turf1 professional club
but you have no hession under your dodgy covers.
2nd what time were the covers removed this morning the industrial heater
wasnt produced till 2.30 would have been 11.30 latest if you blokes wernt
the beverly hillbillies
3rd You then sook like children (yes your captain) when umpires
make a call in the visiting teams favour because they dont believe a
20/20 situation is in the best intrests of the game(with a wet bowling crease)
The bottom line is IF THERE WAS NO HOLE IN THE COVERS THE GAME WOULD
HAVE BEEN PLAYED OUT LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME DID TODAY.
After reading this i took a step back went and made a Horlicks at 3.42am in the morning and then thought about what had transpired.
Now i can only tell you from my perspective what happened and i will only say it once. The Pres text me at 8.05am to get down and help with the covers to be removed, i couldn't due to other commitments. Trav told me at 10ish the wicket had a wet patch on it, i got there at 11 to see our 2 curators and Trav working on it fevoriously. My 1st opinion was we won't get on, it was wet and the bowling crease had safety issues. I continued on with my responsibilities as normal in preparing my boys just incase our curator got it playable, i still didn't think we would get on but our curator had a blower on it which helped a small amount. Then at 1.00pm we got a industrial heater, yes we could of got one earlier. But we didn't we thought we could get it in playable condition with the blower but it was not working the heater really made a differance. The wet area was were you take guard on the crease to about a 3-4 feet radius around. At 2pm the umps said we should be fine to get going at 3pm so we heated the wicket to 2.30 then rolled to 2.50 looking to heat 10 mins before play started but at 2.55pm the umpires got P.Evans out to the middle and he walked up to the wicket had a look didn't even feel the wicket just looked turned around and walked off again. I and the umps were stunned as we wanted to discuss the wicket, adventually we got him out at 3.10pm and he did not want to play even though his wicket inspection was poor it was clear imo that wills & henry were pullin the string from the side lines. Paul was worried about the safety of the deck and his bowlers which was fair enough, but i felt it was firm on top but did hold water underneath, the umpires were worried about starting play due to fear of inj and i said if we have to wait to 4pm then we will. Paul said even if we get a start we will bowl our overs so slow that you wont have enough overs to bat. Which made me think they knew they only had a draw or a loss on the cards which is probably a fair point. I felt the umpires were persuaded by Paul and Wills and co so i rang Ray hoping that he would be at SSCC and that he might be able to drive down in 10 mins to make a ruling to take it out of the umpires hands. Every wicket i played on last year at strathaird was no better then today, i even muted the idea of a possible start to see how it went, regarding the saw dust i muted the possibilitie of picking some up but the umps said it can't be placed on the wicket (so why bother), i have no idea if this is true. After i spoke to Ray i informed both umpires what Ray said, they went away and called the game over at roughly 3.10pm were i went and shook all the Berwick lads hands, at the very precised moment the umps called it of i seen Jimmy.P was bewildered and shocked we didn't play along with a couple of other Berwick lads. Millhouse clearly was not keen on playing and i even heard the ex Berwick pres ask Paul "when are you starting" paul replied were not, the Pres said "you have to be joking" and walked off shaking his head.
In summing up it is frustrating when all we want to do is play Cricket and we get this crap that happened today due to a whole in the covers and some rain, Alot of people went to far this Saturday and may regret it but to come out and call people and clubs C/heads & Wank**s is over the top. It was not ideal but lets hope the Berwick lads can atleast pay the umpires what is owed instead of leaving them unpaid for there efforts.
End of the day all good have been avoided if there was no hole in the covers 100% true but from 9am to 3.10pm the lads worked there backside off to get a game going and when it got to a point that Berwick thought they could not bowl us out and we could win they became disinterested.
Mordi is a side mostly full of young lads, we don't go out of our way to sledge or cause trouble. we are more likely to sledge each other before we do the opositon side. I exept and take full responsibilite for our actions and what we do, but i also support our players 100% were here to play cricket and 5 Saturdays out of 8 is not good enough so far.
I'm a little bit drunk, but from what I have read both teams are accusing the other team of not wanting to play? Fair bit of too and frow going on but if the umpires called the game why are both clubs accusing the other of being soft co.cks?! Surely one club wanted to play and the other didn't!
Time to fess up me thinks.................

Beaver may be able to confuse others with his long winded story but the facts are the mordy covers have holes in them and they knew about it. Mordy need to get their own backyard in order before they quickly become the most disliked, disrespected team in the comp, if they already arent. look forward to hearing what the ddca say about a turf 1 club that has holes in its covers!!!!!! And they knew about it.
From an outsider looking in.......... covers had holes in it which caused the no play. Drawn game is the result.
But if insinuated that Mordy new abt the holes. The DDCA should be talking to the hierarchy at the Club and getting a please explain.. The Clubs committee would be the ones responsible for getting the holes mending not the players..... it is not that hard to get covers fixed.
