Mordi looked great today, rock hard. I was there to help put the hession down.......we over lapped it 4 times...........then we put down a single pitch cover...........then a cover that covers 3 wickets.............then another cover that covered the square...........then another cover for the run ups at  each end.............and 4 covers at square leg were the umpire stands..........bloody 4 and half hours later we could finally crack a Beer.

Buckley wicket looks a treat. me and my girlfriend zoe goss got a call from the boys asking for us to help them put the covers down. it's a good thing we were having a root down near the creek and didn't have far to go. i can't wait to give it to the opposition team at park oval tommorrow.

Any tips on how to beat Cranbourne? We have successfully negotiated 4 of the weaker teams with a whopping draw thanks to some top curatorship.

Now it starts to get tough.

Was it prepared at that stage Mick? Disgrace that not a single ball was bowled when most Turf games got in 65 overs or more. Hope the DDCA please explain email has been sent already..

LHO, yes its a disgrace we didn't get on and yes an email has been sent. From what i heard both skippers were happy to come back next week and play a one dayer. The umps had no issue. Was cut and rolled friday but wasnt worked on sat morn.

Be interesting to see if Match Committee come up with penalty given recent covers incidents & warnings sent out to clubs last week (extract below).

"Clubs are now on notice that any wickets affected by weather, due to either holes in the covers or the incorrect placement or removal of covers, may result in penalties including fines and/or loss of points."

Lucky it wasn't day 2 otherwise points may have gone to opposition.

Our skipper wasn't happy at all but it is difficult to argue when the wicket isn't prepared. As for Nicko's post it will be interesting to see how that plays out, 1st case will set the precedent and will bind the Committee with rulings beyond that. Difficult to prove that covers weren't vandalised when club officials would never knowingly put down covers which they know would make a wicket unfit for play.
