Rules Clarification?

Now not having a go at anyone........just have a question i would love to get a correct answer for.

Today we had rain hit 57 overs into our game we were well placed at 5-142 with Trav on 65 looking good, we lost 48 mins due to rain.
When the rain stopped and we were ready to play the umpires said we lost 13 overs of play so we have 10 overs to bat for our cumpolsury close of innings???????????

Thus giving us 67 overs for our innings which we were not happy about, is that the correct ruling so far.
Then when in trying to hit up a score we lost 3 wickets quickly and after we were 8 down as the number 10 batsman walked out to bat the umpires informed us if we get bowled out before the (cc) then Narre get 80 overs next week..............?????????
Which we got bowled out in the 65th giving Narre 82 overs total 2 this week and 80 next week.

Have we been jibbed or just a victim of bad circumstances???????

My understanding by getting bowled out the umpires are correct. If you had of batted overs out they would have received same next week as you faced this week.

Not jibbed beaver that has been the rule 4 a long time now

Berwick have 68 overs next week if SSth were bowled out We,d have 80 simple as that

ruling is correct beaver. You only get the same number if you CC the innings. Otherwise it reverts to an 80 over day second week. Your case is correct however and has been that way for at least 15 years.

Read rules 19.3.3 and 19.4.1 of Senior DDCA Rules and there is your answer

i was told in our game that we could be off for 30mins without loss of overs and then overs would be deducted at 1 over per 4mins after the 30mins had elapsed. So going on what i was told you should have lost 18 mins therefore 4-5 overs only

What a ****ing bull**** rule!!!

We were saving me to have a blast at their tiring bowlers in the last 10. Then the rain comes and I don't bat. Ok, fine. That's tough. But the problem is, they get no form of Duckworth/Lewis type penalty to compensate for the fact we lost our impetus overs!!!

Laughable!!

Well yes Matt, I don't doubt that. My point is though is that it is a poor one. Improvements can always be made.

Agree Gooch...hopeless rule when on the receiving end. We were 1/141 with 20 overs remaining when rain hit.

Can I just say, that we DID get back on for ONE over in soaking conditions at the end. Cranbourne could easily have kicked up a fuss as it was soaking. Never heard a murmour from them.

They looked like a well run outfit and were a joy to play against. No sledging at all and all stopped for a few beers after the game.

SS that is my understanding of the rule.........once 30 mins is lost then any time there after is calculated every 3 mins lost is = to 1 over so my understanding was we would of lost 6 overs...........meaning we batted 74 yesterday for the close of play........3 overs next week totaling 77 giving Narre 77 overs as well still allowing 80 overs play next week.
What would have happened if we batted our overs of 67........then Narre would have batted 67 next week also losing 13 overs which i don't get.

I was two feet away from that, drinks were called and he picked up the drinks and went to walk down the steps and miss read were he was stepping having his heel catch the bull nose on the step thus slipping and crashing down the stairs.
Bit of grazed skin but could of been far worse, our ladys and the club looked after him well imo.

Yeah completely....still wondering how he didn't crack his head open. The ladies got him a Ice pack to whack on his arm and then Bandaged it up for him and like a trooper he continued on to score and had a beer after the game 'a delightful chap'
