They beat us in a game where we couldn't play much better but what was more noticeable was the way they played the game. No pathetic big time attitudes. They got on with their job and looked a professional outfit. They also all stayed for beers after both days of the game.
A pleasure to play against and I hope they win the flag.
see goochy i know they r nice guys, they do look professional, they r a good club, and they can play cricket, my question was why would a club of that size play in turf 2, if it was keysy, coomoora or st.marys i would've understand.
In my time at Cranny (admittedly a while ago now), it was very strong in terms of playing personnel (in my first season there, premiership flags for 1st XI, 3rd XI and 4th XI and 2nd XI beaten grand finalists), but internal politics reared its ugly head and we were relegated I think 4 or 5 season later. It seemed this problem persisted at the club for quite a few years after that, and I think the clun never made the best of its recruiting efforts over what was a pretty wide catchment area. Other clubs have also sprung up in the area since then, but Cranny never became the powerhouse they should have been. Re. Mr No Body's comment lumping Keysy, Coomoora and St Marys in the same boat, a bit off the mark, in my opinion. St Mary's have always been a very very well run club, and it's no easy thing staying up in T1, given the location in central Dandy and the concentration of clubs with that area, what with the competition for recruting and fielding junior teams. A poorly run club will not survive in Greater Dandenong, a poorly run club will have a better chance in Casey due to the sheer numbers of people living out here! Cranny have been just ticking over for far too long, in my opinion. Should be doing better.

Fair enough. Cranbourne's troubles all started when I left and they never recovered.
