What is the point of it can some please explain the 5 o'clock rule?
Our game was decide through nothing but poor cricket on our behalf and some very good cricket from Keys'b......but to have a result done by 3pm and continue to play until 5pm made a joke of the day. We did not want to play, Keys'b did not want to and neither did either umpire.......but instead we where in a position where after 16 overs keys'b where o-20 playing boring cricket so i decided to bowl everyone 2-3 overs as it was 30+ and no one wanted to be out there. Guys bowling pies that where been blocked down the wicket there was nothing to be gained from it at all, i dearly hope this rule gets changed.
Thanks to the Keys'b.c.c ripping spread today really enjoyed stayed around and had a Beer with all of them for a good 2 hrs. But one thing that jerks me is the absence of there captain for both weeks? once the game was completed he was unsighted and did not join us for a beer or even say goodbye now i would of thought it was mandatory as Captain to have a beer with the opposition especially if the game was played in good spirit which it was. Can anyone shed any light on why he was not there?
Now he may have a legit excuse, but i would of thought the best course of action is to say goodbye to the opposition and apoligise that you can't stick around.
I have been in that situation before where i have a function on and just said to the opposition/ skip that i had to leave for one reason and i apoligise as it happens.
Beave Ive got to stick up for the DDCA on this one .We cannot complain about not playing due to rain or affected wickets and then want to take our bat and ball and go home when it suits lovely day great weather PLAY THE GAME till 5pm Didnt hurt for 4 hrs did it.???????
Brett in regards to Andre's absence this afternoon he is in the process of moving into his new house and was still in the process in the early hours this morning. He wanted to get another 3 loads taken to his new home tonight. Anyone who has moved house before would fully understand the process of this and the fact that it can be an absolute pain in the backside if you decide to move house yourself and not use a removalist which can cost big money. I can understand where you are coming from, but i hope that this clears it up.
Although the keysy coach was unsighted after this weeks game, more importantly to mr Ernst I would have thought would be the fact, that once again the mordi coach was unsighted at the batting crease. With mordi clearly being the worse performed team with the bat and another single figure score too his name, you would reckon that would be more of a concern to mordi than who hung around for a beer??

Have you noticed there is a group of people the hoff never has a crack at?
shaggy do you have an excuse for him why he never hung around both weeks in our game too? nothing personal to andre but beav is right on this one. 5 o'clock finish would have meant an extra hour up the sleeve. BOTH GAMES!
highpants, if you and your flogs made a decent game of it, the game would have been still alive at 5 o'clock. don't go blaming the rules because you were stuck out there untill 5 o'clock, blame your lack of ability.
andre wouldn't even know the barmans name at keysie. 2nd biggest tosser in the comp, guess who's 1st

Pringles thank you for that response.....though i can't disagree with it alot, just merely wanted to point out it was a farce. Now maybe of there where some bonus points up for crabs it might have seen some good hard cricket to the end of the day who knows?
Shaggy thank you for your measured response mate, it does appear this is a common problem with this person in the past am i wrong in saying as the Captain of your 1st he should at least make some effort to stay around and have a beer?
if you had any balls highpants you would answer jakes question about manders.
as much of a tool andre is why would he want to hang around for a beer with highpants who clearly can't hold his grog and would most likely end up embararassing his club like that bus episode.

My guess and it is only that , is Andres trying to steer clear of the grog .He has a colorfull history in the ddca , and has done a great job with our kids . So who cares what he does after the game, as long as its not destructive Thanks for cleaning the change rooms yesterday Brett much appreciated , nice social drink as well . 5 oclock rule suck's after a result has been achieved , and everyone agree's it's time for a cold one.

No problem mate, but unfortunately staying clear of the grog is a implausible excuse if he really wants to then house arrest is the best way.
