Cannot believe they would play any type of grand final on that ground. Not fit for turf 1 cricket let alone a grand final.

Not fit for Turf 1 cricket, spare me. I could list many grounds far worse than Park for a game of cricket.

Nothing against Buckley but I reckon Dandy West would've been a better option for the 20/20 Grand Final. The facilities and viewing area is far better than Park and the ground is just as good. Doesn't really make a lot of sense to me.

I reckon the oval at Buckley is perfect for a 20/20 granny, the oppositions change room (under tree) isn't ideal though..............

Jefty, any word on if the dyke will be involved in pre game entertainment?

Have to agree Park Oval is a great ground for T20 cricket.

Will Dandy West be allowed to play there 3 imports in this game ? (jokes) biggrin

I agree that it is a good ground for T20 cricket. But nowhere near as good as the other option Dandy West, particularly if there will be a decent crowd in attendance which you'd expect there would be...might even pop down myself.

Perfect ground except for over hanging trees, lost balls in creek, balls getting hit to fielders on the boundary but still no run in it, fielders dodging canteen queues because the canteen is about 15 meters inside most grounds fences, pointless fielding restriction circle as it's so close to the boundary anyway.

Lefty, plenty of worse grounds. Come on.Name plenty of worse T1 grounds???

Agree about the size of the ground being good for a T20 match. Should be a great spectacle.

Buckley will be providing a marquee for Dandy West to use as change rooms.

DDCA would have opened their side of the pavilion, but umpires are having a meeting in the main room and rules & permits will be in the DDCA executive room dealing with a couple of matters

Hot off the presses.

Kookaburra Statewide T20 Cup match between Buckley Ridges & Keilor that was supposed to have been played next Tuesday night (9/2) at Donvale Reserve will now be played this Sunday (7/2) commencing at 1.00pm (still at Donvale Reserve - Melways 48 E3).

Winner meets VCCL champion at MCG on Sunday 21st February.

LHO. please name the grounds that you think that aren't up to Turf 1 standard. I would be very interested in your opinion.

Don't recall stating that the grounds weren't up to Turf 1 standard, just that I would prefer to play at Park than Doveton, Narre, Parkfield, Mordy and Hallam to name a few in no particular order. This is no indictment on the grounds or the clubs just my personal preference, for what it's worth. Park suits my powerful throwing arm just nicely..

I hope the Dyke will be down Prince, I thought I knew who it was but was told I was off the mark while catching up with Mr DDCA over a few beers in town on a Friday night a few weeks back.

I think the DDCA may have allowed us to host the game Train as we played the final away last year, I don't base that on anything but my own suspicion.

Yeah must be 5hit playing on grounds that you can throw the ball back without your hand getting stuck in a tree branch or the visitors can actually change indoors or where one ball is enough per innings.
I appreciate your club loyalty but park oval is a disgrace.
Quicker they move out of there the better.
