Has there ever been a season a more rain affected season in the DDCA than the one we're having currently?? This is the fourth time the 1st week of a two dayer has been washed out for us. Just happy that a) We're a good one day side and b) Hasn't washed out a second week of play after we've fielded in the first. Nothing worse than that.
Yeah have heard that Beav.. you'll be spending a lot of Sat arvos down at the pub whilst your over there. Not that your complaining. Will pop down to Coomora later on today.
one way to fix this problem of when covers can be put on is to make all the dandenong clubs pay for their own curators this would mean that the league could let all clubs put down covers any day of the week problem solved
Too many piss weak cricketers in this country. We had a 15 year old kid make his debut as opener on a sh1t-heap deck with Jimmy Van Elewoud pinging it round his ears. He never complained once.
We are here to play the game not sit moaning. I played the first half of my career on uncovered pitches and we had wickets like yesterdays every other week!!
I'm not talking specifically about St Marys. I didn't see what it was like. I'm talking about in general.
At least 3/4 times I've turned up this season to see people stood around an average wicket waiting for someone to make a decision. Meanwhile I am just walking round saying the same sh1t over and over to anyone who will listen.
"we are here to play cricket....let's just play" "we are here to play cricket....let's just play" "we are here to play cricket....let's just play"
For fcks sake toughen up. Ok, there might be the odd injury but hey - that's sport. It doesn't seem to bother you guys when you brag about how tough AFL players are. Why are we subjected to such overzealous protection?!?
Stick a helmet on and get out there and enjoy the battle. And have a laugh in the bar about it with the opposition after the game.
gooch as you have strenuously supported in the past, the covers need to go down prior to rain end of story. lets not accept a curator not doing his job properly. make the wicket the best it can be. why accept playing on average wickets? one reason harold rd is always good is because the curator bloody works. it is quite evident at most grounds that curators just whip one up and mark it. and we are just meant to get on with it? pffft
