If I captain t4 next year at the start of each game I am going to approach the opposition captain and we can both declare 1st innings at 0/0 and play the game for 10 points.
Bobby leave sheepy alone your misses will be home from kittens soon.

all of you blokes/chicks have got your head in the sand seriously. if you all think that this competition is that fair dinkum that you have to wheel and deal to jerry up some result you are playing for the wrong reasons. we as a club are proud of the way we play on and off the field and will continue to do so no matter where we finish on the ladder. quite happy not to be a part of a dodgy finals campaign.
no pain for our side missing out. i feel more pain for people that need to contrive results. very sad day for "LOCAL" cricket.
honestly when i heard the result today i was shocked and everyone that i spoke with was shocked as well. we all know its cheat. i have got nothing to do with any t1 club or sides but it is very sad result for local cricket
I don't know all the facts mate. All im saying is it's not cheating to declare your innings closed. Both sides were trying to win there's no doubt about that. There may have been an organised declaration i don't know, but its different to match fixing or cheating if there was that's for sure.
Having read all this, I have to say that this a sad day for your comp and I feel so sorry for SSCC. Gutted for Al too as I feel he was just coming into the kind of form that would have made them my tip to win the comp.
However, and with my SSCC loyalties put to one side, if I was in Parkfields position (and had realised the situation) then I would have done the same thing. What they did was smart and that needs to be said. It wasn't cheating, it was contriving a result.
These kind of things have gone on for years in first class cricket. England even won a test like this though that was another issue altogether....
Solutions? It's a tough one. Personally I don't know why you even bother with the 2 day stuff. It seems to cause you guys so many problems!! At the very least, why not make the last game of the season a one-dayer? This should help avoid this sort of controversy.
Something has to be done though as now sides know what can be achieved with these rules in place, there could be all sorts of fck ups and dodgy happenings. I can't believe you have never had a situation like this come up before! How sad that it has happened in these circumstances.
as disappointed as were all are , we will be dignified as a club knowing we did everything we could to again have a chance of premiership success ,
what i would like to know from someone who was at mordialloc was what happened with the last few wickets , if what we heard is correct , we may be hunting the wrong game .....
