It's Parkfields declaration at 8 down that really doesn't sit right, you wouldn't do it unless you knew the opposition cap was going to declare 0/0, Parkfield on any other day would fight tooth and nail to win the game.

They were not going to win the game from that position at tea, and knowing that buckly had to get the outright it makes sense. Buckly was never going to inforce the follow on and logically they would bat for a few overs and delcare or as they did do it at 0/0 meaning a realistic chase for parkfield and no overs lost in changeovers. It was a risk both teams had to take so there is nothing wrong from either captain.
Could only be seen as a contrived result if 1 of the teams had nothing to gain from it.

Sobers, Parkfield knew Buckley would declare early and give them a chance at the runs, they had to to be any chance of winning outright and making the finals. I guess the biggest punt Parkfield took was hoping Buckley didn't choose to enforce the follow on.

end of the day ...the buckley / parkfield are gonna say they've done nothing wrong.....which they have legally. They have done the best for their club. And..... i am sure both teams would've known they'rd we a back lash somewhat....so i give them the due credit...it was a brave call.

One our side...we feel somewhat cheated through no wrong doing of ourselves. More so against the system........

more so......who are we really miffed at......Parkfield or Buckley. Or Mordi for been so inept. If the buckley/parkfield game didnt turn out the way it did....would there be questions asked how a team can lose 17 wkts in the day. Or is it we are miffed at the leaque for not making a stand....not that they ever do. I feel really sorry for our boys.....the look in their eyes after the game said it all.

your right BEAV having thought about it i have been a bit critical of you in the past and having only met you a couple of times i shouldnt really be having a crack at you , i just find it difficult to read and understand some of your theories that you post on here from time to time ok most of the time!! oops i did it again didnt i sorry hard habit to break !!
i guess what im trying to say in short is after all that happened over the weekend do you think it was in your best interest to have come on to this SPRINGVALE SOUTH CHAT FORUM and post so soon after the weekend's results knowing full well that some of us may see you as someone that we would like to vent our dissatisfaction over the weekends results which included your side that rolled over to knock them out of the 4 ?? just thought i would throw that one out there and i eagerly await your response !!

I understand how upset the lads are, i have come on here and been very careful what i have said for all concerned. It is unfortunate that any club ie: SSCC have been in this position i really do feel for them.
I was shocked when i 1st heard what was happening at the Park & Buckley game and like Train i thought hang on what is going on here, then i stopped and thought about and thought well they both have the same intentions of making the 4 and to do what ever is possible.
I also did a quick calculation on how the ladder may have ended up, regarding my theories and was shocked to see SSCC could still miss out hence the reason i hoped for a no outright result for either Buckley or Parkfield giving SSCC 4th. i am not perfect i make mistakes but i offer a opinion rightly or wrongly just as we all do some just do it better then me.
But if your saying it is not my best interest to be on here that is a broad brush that can be said about alot of people given the weekends events and what they have said but i have been rather quiet on here compared to my normal habbits and don't think i have said anything bad about anyone on here. Once again i am sorry if you don't agree with me but i did not come on here today to upset anyone.
