i believe a couple of part time forum members played up at the local maccas after they left the prince mark after the wookie, this involved the attemted theft of a semi trailor while the driver was in getting a feed, the driver then getting roughed up outside and having his maccas stolen from him
Sounds like i left just at the right time, were they all on CRIME STOPPERS Woofa?

what happened at maccas shall stay there unless the truckie who charged at our sensible coach from dogtown matthew reads this forum and wants to apologise and admit he was in the wrong
So that I pass on completely accurate information about the inception and conduct of the Wookey Medal I will ask Alan Thursday and post it after I speak to him. I joined umpiring after it started so will get the full picture from him.
Going back to 1965 the DDCA put up an Umpires award. Alan Wookey won it 6 years in a row and was embarassed as umpires all go out to do their best. The league stopped it at Alan's request.
A few years later the DDCA wanted to reintroduce and Alan suggested that an umpires vote for fairest and best should be better as put forward by Brian Cleary the DDCUA Umpires rep.
The DDCA went along with this. The votes from 1985 to about 1999 were given by single umpires and winning could be 4 bests in a year. After 1999 there that were two umpires per game. This is when a countback was introduced at Alan's request as umpires differ on votes given that it is FAIREST and best
So we have the current system.

As a member at the Dandenong Club and a long time representative of the DDCA i was horrified to see the video surveillance during the week of some footage that took place on the upper Balcony at the DC on Wookey medal night. Players spreading from a few clubs in the DDCA were seen on CTV footage throwing glasses, chairs & Tables onto the bowling green down below. I was horrified to see two current T1 Captains in the middle of these disgraceful shenanigans contributing to the damage on the bowling green down below which has since cost the DC $2,400.00 to repair. The DDCA has been since notified and all clubs who attended the night will be forwarded a please explain letter from the DDCA executives asking for the culprits to come forward.
The DC put together a beautiful event and it is a shame that certain members of the association can not hold there liquor and act in a respectful and appropriate way.
