I have never used hoff mate. I have no idea what the password is and never have. In fact, I can't remember the last time i used an alias. Craig Starcevich maybe? I've got the balls to tell people what i think under my own name unlike some others...

Fridge there is nothing to be gained from it, i like train chose not to remark on the situation for a number of reasons the main one been there is nothing to gain from doing so.

And no i do not agree with you. It may seem to outsiders that we are taking the high moral ground and people again from outside beleive we would've done the same thing if in the same posistion.....wrong. For those that now Slocs it would not happen.

FT....I'm loathe to engage in any conversation with yourself on this topic but can you please give me a full explanation as to what your mate Slocs and SSCC would have done at 8/90 chasing 251 needing points to play finals?

I would like to think that we would've resigned ourselves to the fact that unless our last 2 wkts cant get 160 runs we are not playing finals.

Well I look forward to Slocs calling all the batsmen back next season who may be given out incorrectly and walking immediately when out.

It would be a shame for SSCC not to fulfill their moral obligation with all things cricket.

i would thank u have an obligation to ur teammates, members, supporters and sponsors to do everything u could to make the finals FT.

Fridge, ill spell it out for u since u cant see it from my other explanation.

i dont want to comment too much on this topic because ive already had my say on saturdays events in another topic. I've got pretty good relationships with a few of the boys at springy sth so i dont want to put those in jeopardy, by offering my opinion here, as obviously i dont really agree with a lot of it.. I hope this makes it clear for u.

G Train/Beaver comment away. I couldn't care less if everyone had a different opinion to us. I/we aren't that precious that we would crack the 5hits becuase someone doesn't agree with us. If you think we're sooking fair enough, say it I am more than happy for you to tell us your opinion, It doesn't matter with whether you agree or not, I know the DDCA will talk about the events of Saturday which they probably would have done with or without our letter at some stage.

I want to know if people think the DDCA needs to consider these types of situations? Is this a non-issue? Should teams be allowed to bat for 5 overs each in the 1st innings and then play for 8 or 10 points? Why would that be any different?

Stocky stumper, I am not asking you to justify what happended. You believe you guys made the right decision fair enough. I am not sure why you think we are angels, the moral police or just plain sooks but we are interested in what people have to say and if they think this needs to be discussed as an issue. Forget what happened at the weekend and tell me as an experienced cricketer who has played District cricket, whether you think the DDCA needs to do anything to prevent these types of situations happening again. If not fair enough I respect your view.

I don't need to Kev, i understand your clubs view and respect it.
I was just a little disappointed with some of the remarks from your fello club members posted on my FB..........but i did not make a deal of it because i understand your clubs disappointment. I also have alot of respect for your club and people in it so i just believe it is a touchy subject that i don't want to get heavily involved in on here.

Slocs/Murph, all i'll say is that i think your club's response to what happened Saturday is a massive over reaction. As I said earlier in the week, initially when i heard about it i thought everything sounded very shifty. But after a bit of thought, I reckon I would've done the same thing myself had i thought of it. I also reckon you blokes now cooling down after a couple of days probably realise the same. There's no doubt you blokes were very farkin unlucky and i'd be shattered too if in the same position, but overall i just think you maybe need to cop it on the chin and move on.

I'm not going to pick holes in your letter or highlight any of the posts from earlier in the week, coz i don't want to cause a massive argument with you blokes. Simple as that. Oh apart from FT coz that bloke clearly has no farking idea.

Fair enough Train but seriously you could pick my letter apart and criticise it as much as you like and I wouldn't take it personally. I have no problem hearing someone elses opinion, even if it is the polar opposite to mine. We also have strong views on many other things like the points system, covers etc and I am more than happy for people to disagree with us on those as well.

Apart from wanting to neck myself on Sat nite I have gotten over missing the finals pretty well. For us who have kids you only need to go home and see them to realise the while cricket is a serious game most of the time, there are other more important things in life.

Murph/Slocs you guys are a proud and passionate and well run club, in my time you have welcomed me through your doors that is a clear stand out factor. A credit you guys and your club for been in that position. But i am not capable of wording my point of view correctly with out offending anyone but all i can say Gtrain summed it up perfectly.
I for one fully expect your club to bounce back and be even stronger next year due to the class of people you have down at Harold Rd.

Best WIshes Beav.

Yeah but i don't want to mate out of respect for the position you fellas are in. I've had my say in the other topic and i'll leave it at that.

You're right about coming home to kids though, in my case kid. Had a couple of really bad days this year but it's all forgotten once you get home! You never would've thought before you had one that they'd have that affect on you!
