Thought Wheels was outstanding on day 1 and just summed up the game beautifully. Just batted time and, no question, put them in a position to win the game.

Great work Wheels, well deserved!

On behalf of Franksy who is now on his way home I would like to address the issues raised in relation to him not making a speech post match on the acceptance of the trophy. He received the trophy from Hawk and asked him if he would like him to say a few words which Hawk replied "Nah, don't worry about it." We are now aware that a few of the Hallam lads as well as the hosts weren't overly pleased by that but it wasn't an indication of any ill-will or malice towards the parties involved.

The facilities were great and the game was played in a hard fought spirit as you would expect of a Turf 1 grand final. I certainly don't have any issue with the Hallam lads and am not aware of any problems which arose as a result of the game. I have been congratulated by them all as well as a number of ex-players and supporters who have contacted me in the past few days on our victory. I would personally like to congratulate Boothy and his players on an excellent season and look forward to enjoying a few beers with them post match after our next fixture.

I hope this clears up what was really a misunderstanding and not a deliberate attempt to disresepect either the Keysborough or Hallam cricket clubs.

Cheers,

Paul RUDD BRCC

As I was the one that had a crack lefty I should be the one to say thanks for that so cheers for making an effort there to acknowledge it.
I have to ask though is the club going to address certain individuals that acted like complete farkwits over the finals series which was just embarassing.
Congrats on the win and well batted on Saturday.

I heard Hawk asked Franksy twice if he'd like to say a few words and both times the answer was no.

Thanks for the congrats lads, I have no idea if the club will be looking into the behaviour of spectators. I am only starting to sober up now so as a member of the committee we will debrief the game and associated issues in time. In relation to "speechgate" I can only go from what I'm told, Franksy when it was brought to our attention told me he offered and was told not to bother. In my experience both captains are generally invited to speak and I can confirm that didn't occur, as for the conversation between Hawk and Franksy I can't comment any further as I didn't hear it.

Not sure I follow Craig, beer Friday?

im not going to whinge about them anymore big k, but people were pi55ed off with robbo at the berwick game and jorgo's behaviour during the speeches on sunday. i know its been a while since you won the big one and good luck to you but when you have muppets carrying on like that it just makes you guys look like shocking winners, but as i have said before, just my opinion.

Ive never seen in all my years of cricket a C/C of the winning side not to bother with a speech.

I actually agree Bobbs, but i have spoken to Franksy a bit and believe him to be a quality person who would not stoop this low. So i believe LHO and his version of what happened for what it's worth.
