Legal Aid, do you have room on your books for an over threatened ex Survivor genius? There's a fellow with a few eye pokers missing that keeps bullying me with threats of a QC. Where do I stand? Is a restraining order viable? Is self defence a legitimate option for me?The guys insane, please advise me!

So woofa, this wgca comp that is apparently miles ahead of the ddca is happy to have some games on turf and some on synthetic every week? what a joke, surely its 1 or the other. The devon meadows thing is a joke, how can 1 team play on turf when no one else does?

Full of players who couldn't quite cut it in the DDCA really.

Easy foghorn, i was not talking about your stint on the radio i was not tuned in to it.
I was talking about the DDCA lads rabbiting on you goose, have a cup of Horlicks and calm the hell down. Otherwise you will need a bigger pen to strut in.

Shut up Beaver or i'll punch your lights out.

Played in both and WGCA is a good well run comp, reckon there are a few things the DDCA could learn from them.  Speaking to a beacy person a turf deck would be good for also hosting rep games and trial country week games.  I think the league is hoping to have a few more turf grounds in the future so top grades play turf but can still play synthetic so they dont miss about 6 days a year.

Leongatha and Warragul league both have only a few turf grounds.

Deadbat, I have no doubt the wgca would do some things better than the ddca but you can't honestly say that a competition played on different surfaces is a good thing. Come on dude, surely a competition needs to be as close to a level playing field across the whole grade as possible. Sounds to me that the wgca would actually like to be a turf competition.
As for beacy's ground, I haven't seen it during summer but if I take your word for it why is it such a 5hithole during footy season??

Yeah i am not too sure about playing on different surface but i guess if they want the whole top grade on Turf its going to take a few years and this might be the best way. Cant expect clubs/league/council to build 5 turf decks in one year.

Beacy is a strange ground, always fantastic in cricket season and a mud heap in winter. I dont think it drains too well and they play so much footy on it with so many juniors it chops up easily. They have access to water from the creek in summer so the surface is always great for cricket.

Houn Park Rd has two grounds under construction and are expected to be finished during footy season. The Beacy footy club along with its juniors will them move to this location which will leave the Beacy CC to share its existing location with the Super Rules only. In relation to why they are installing turf wickets, I can only imagine it would be to develope their 15 junior sides and players within their 6 senior sides, before supporting their move into the district cricket ranks.

The beacy ground is in excellent condition all year round. One problem that it does have is too much usage from the footy club. With that said, and the Huon Park Rd development to be completed at the end of this footy season, the heavy traffic would be rectified. The issue in relation to different surfaces is valid...So based on this, and this one issue only, they should cancel all future plans for their club and the development of cricketers who reside within the Casey & Cardinia shires?..I dont think so. One advantage that Beacy do have over everyone else is water..Turf grounds throughout the DDCA have sented thousands of dollars improving their grounds to compensate for the increasing shortage of water. Beacy owns the water permit for the cardinia creek and therefore can cater for a lush green outfield all year round and a turf wicket that will offer some life for both the bats and bowlers.

Nice work Jake..I love a fella who does his homework... Remember the statement though..the reference was in relation to some clubs..not all clubs. Some of the clubs that appear to be on the slide have little or no junior development and appear to be just surviving financially on a year to year basis. Merge or be gone, I say..

Thats unfair..I have observed several cricketers and would suggest to you that would be equal to many within the DDCA. Also unfair to the few who do play within the WGCA who may be previous Turf 1 premiership players..

hey mannnnn...thanks bro. Can safely say though that the boys from the DDCA are no-angels. Observed several of them over the years within my courts.. Wife bashers, druggies, drink drivers, etc..

I'm not talking about the standard of cricket. But when you make comments about teams merging you defeat your own argument. If dandenong based clubs merged it would make the new club stronger. And when you suggest beacy will move into district cricket?? Please.

Not beacy into district..Just that I think beacy could become a 'feeder' club to Dandy, Frankston or Casey. The merge reference would only be a short tern solution to remain within the existing DDCA. Best option for some of those clubs would be to consider a different comp. Perhaps SSCC and Coomoora would form a sub-district club?

What is your club doing to develop juniors? Does your club have a short, medium & long term plans? I suggest to you that if it doesnt then that WGCA club in Beacy is well ahead of your club...
