None of my posts have commented on the standard of cricket in either league and your right that there is a bit of turf snobbery in this comp, I mean playing turf 4 or 5 doesn't make it top level cricket. But early in this thread deadbat was telling us synthetic was better due to less lost days and that beacy was miles ahead of our grounds. At the end of the day they play top flight cricket on turf for a reason.
Sheepy I drive past the beacy ground every day and only a faaarkwit would think that it is anywhere near the surface of Keysys ground or harold rd and im sure a couple ive left out
Just my opinion chip man...I think its improved since my footy days there. I attended some DDCA grounds not long ago and they had their own dramas. Berwick not long ago would have better served as a place to pitch the umbrella and lay out the deck chair and towel. Haven't seen that much sand since I last visited the beach. Narre was the same.
beacy should take out some water from the creek and water the wicket. very hard deck at beacy.
Agree and always a green top at beacy. Similar to the old days when you played at Hallam and St Mary's when they had runs on the board and you were batting in week two.

Not trying to get offside with u legal and Beacy is a lovely surface to walk a dog but cannot be compared to some Dandy grounds if u want to pick a cricket ball up And didnt even mention Berwick we have a while to go on our outfield but are working hard on it.
so one minute you profess to know about wgca, then you are an expert on ddca. let go of it please.
Don't know much about either. Just observed alot of sand on Casey grounds. (berwick and narre) Berwick looked ace when I watched that buckley side beat them. Haven't seen them much in ages but they were great. I don't think the berwick guys liked the quick bowling too much.

Legal Aid, until this post I considered you a 'breath of fresh air' on this forum. Opinionated, Educated, etc.
You just lost me.............
There aint no sand on Sweeney. I wish there was!
A top dressing of sand would have it in super nick for next year..................
I agree Pres...he seems like a man with a bit of knowledge but not sure what to do with it (or when to stop)
Batfink and Prez. I observed narre early this season and found it to be a sandy mess as per the same condition last season and the season before. (note Berwick News photo of Narre outfield?. I also had the pleasure of attending a WGCA inter league game in Jan this year and the Berwick outfield was fuli of sand. To their credit by semi-final time it was in ace condition.
Legal Aid, you are a fcuking drop kick............
During the two seasons previous to the 09/10 season, the water shortage in Victoria made our ground baron. A cow pattock if you will.......
During this time, there was little (being generous) grass in the outfield. There was no sand on our ground during these seasons.
"I observed narre early this season and found it to be a sandy mess"
There was no sand placed on our ground after the 08/09 season.
In hindsight, it was the best thing that ever happened to our "cow pattock". We got a 30m square around the wicket in roll out, and the rest of the ground spriged.
Its now in excellent condition, but there be no sand..........

Prez, I appreciate the water issue has caused a great deal of problems with several clubs throughout several associations. I'm no grounds keeper and am the first to admit that I don't understand why sand now, or in the past has been spread over outfields. The purpose of my comments (berwick/narre outfield) were in direct response to comments made about the condition of some WGCA grounds in particular (beacy). The general comments seemed to suggest that it was not it was not that flash and would be better used 'to walk the dogs' etc..I just raised it with the forum members that I had visited beacy during this season including the WGCA GF and found the ground to be in unbelievable condition. I think the single main reason for this is that they don't appear to have a water issue at that place as they own a permit to pump water from the Cardinia Creek. Some within the forum I guess are sensative and supportive of their club/comp and that's fine. I just thought the WGCA comments re(beacy) were way off considering the condition of the two grounds during this season (berwick/narre). I also understand that unlike the Dandy grounds who are slowly receiving this wiz bang new turf, the Casey grounds and in a difficult situation because on one hand hand they need the same turf installed on their grounds but on the other hand they cant afford to lose access to their ground ie: during winter(footy) as this would hurt all the footballers. (not enough grounds in Casey).
I now note that you have a link to Narre and can understand you being 'a little touchy' when it comes to people making comments about your club and Iunderstand that. Lets put it into perspective though, it's an outfield we are talking about, not a sledging session about players, committee, etc from Narre.
In fact in an earlier post I raised a positive post (if you read between the lines) in relation to Narre and them developing within. The only thing that people may see as harsh was the 'narre type clubs comments'.
Everyone would realise that that comment was not made to be taken in a bad manner towards narre or any other of those clubs. It was to highlight how they seem happy to work their way through and recruit specific people with the view to being long term players within their club where I believe the berwicks' SSCC, Buckley etc.. are looking for success now and not too concerned about what will occur in the future. Both ways are ok, they are just different.
Regarding comments about what narre could do to improve chances of new players/recruits to their club I raised specific points where I thought they could address. Truth be known, they are probably already doing these types of things and more. I raised them because I have seen them work well 1st hand as I have friends at berwick, cranny, pakenham & beacy where the juniors/seniors have worked well together and as a result have generated massive amounts of revenue for their clubs via sponsorship, fundraising etc...Narre are in the same position with the same opportunities being a massive club in the huge growth area.
I hope I have clarified things in a better manner. If not, we will agree to disagree and move on. Thanks.
With so much to say about other clubs why are so determined not to give us the same opportunity to pass judgement on your club? I can only imagine that you are concerned that you would lose any credibility to judge others if people knew who you where or what club you are involved in. But until this happens your just another blowhole gobbing off from behind the fence.

Cant you have any credibility unless your affiliated with a club? I can give an expert legal opinion but Im not a crook. I can give an opinion on a restaurant meal but Im not a chef.
I have a Supercoach team but Im really not a footy coach. Shall I continue?
My comments you either support or you dont. Whether Im affiliated with a club is of nil value.
That said, Im sorry if I have breached the terms and conditions of being a member of the forum. I wasnt aware that I had to be a qualified cricket expert or club member or both before I was allowed to make comment.
Would you mind supplying me with the condition number or sub-section?
Mate that is the biggest wanker response ever. I would have thought with your so called legal background that you would understand the idea of two sided argument and the right of facing your accuser. There are no rules here pal but the fact is that those who choose to hide their identity are less respected than those who are prepared to voice opinions out in the open.

Other than the forum guys (slocs, G-Train, Fridge, Coatails) whose names or photos give their identity away, I have no idea who anyone is. For all I know, we may be from the same club...I certainly dont lose any sleep over worrying who people may or may not be. My opinions are just that, my opinions. Who cares? Well it appears some do and some may think Im just full of ****..Oh well...
