Rule 7

The DDCA has let clubs know that they have a week to give feedback on rule 7. The current $6000 salary cao would be replaced with a new points system (details on the ddca website). I would love to know peoples/clubs thoughts.

Cant figure it out myself bb, dont know how the younger clubs (like narre nth and lynbrook) who haven't been around long could cope. These clubs haven't had enough time to establish juniors to come through and play in there ones yet. Also how will the clubs struggling for juniors survive?. Clubs like Cranbourne and Narre warren will be licking there lips. Will be interesting thats for sure.

don,t know if i fully understand the rules .
what i understand is lets say u for instance you would be on 3 points this upcoming season then loose a point per year that you stay at narre-nth because u came from another club in the ddca

 problems / questions /solutions.
1/ i would be interested in is why it would have to apply to clubs that have only teams below A grade ie sandown or a new club to the league
2/ i think that any player that played at a ddca club in 2009/2010 should only attract 1 point if that player stays at that same club (should not back date new rules)
3/ i don,t have a problem with players from a higher standard of cricket attracting a higher amount of start up points ie overseas ,state, distrivt, sub district  or other turf leagues.
4 /i think that if a player comes to play turf cricket in the ddca and has come from a league that doesn't have turf cricket or has not played in the ddca for lets say for 3years or has never played in this league should only attract 1 point

Not quite right. You have to be with your club for 3 years and after that you reduce by one point per year.

Here is an intersting scenario which has already happened in at least the cases of Danny Law and Steve Chapman.

Both players would have been Overseas players, then 3 years in to their playing in the DDCA they became permanent residents of Australia.

Initially they would have been 4 point players with 5 years to serve before any points reduction.

What points are they allocated on becoming permanent residents as they are no longer Overseas players and there doesn't appear to be a category of points in the table and how long do they have to wait before any points reductions? Does previous service when they were overseas players count?

Mr Nobody
You are a very funny man and yes im being sarcastic.
Facts i thought you as a very switch on individual should know.
I personally would have loved to have the abillaty to play turf .
I have been fortunate eneough to play masters and that is as close as i will ever get to playing a real turf match ,yes i play a very low standard of cricket  at narre nth and its where i belong .
 but thats eneough about me.
Narre north had 4 junior sides make finals this season and the under 15 division 1 side won a very close grand final and im sure that there are some quality juniors coming through that will play a very high standard of cricket in the future, not just local cricket either there are one ,two or may-be three that could have a serious crack at district cricket .
narre nth is the second yongest club in the league  (8-9 years old) only lynbrook are younger as a club.
turf 3 premiers 2009/2010 i think even you would have to agree they have achieved a lot in 8-9 seasons of cricket .
3 senior premierships including turf 3 ,1 junior premiership.
6 senior sides ,11 junior sides ,1 masters side and a veterans side.
Narre nth would be in the top three in the league for facillaty's and middle of the road as far as there 2 year old turf pitch is going.
Will they survive in turf two , im sure we will find out at the end of the 2010-2011 season.
But the real question you should be asking your self is why we never read on this site how good of a club is the one that you play at and where is it going to be in the future or are you not  as proud of your club as i am of mine.
