He certainly has Sir and I think it's being shown due respect, we wouldn't be talking about it if it wasn't.
To be honest, I don't really have an opinion on this, as i don't have a solution. It's a tough one because as elprez said, just about any system that is totally fair to all clubs, will probably lessen the overall strength of the competition. And if you just have open slather, then it certainly won't make for an even competition. In saying that, I don't believe open slather necessarily makes it unfair, but it will definitely make it uneven. I guess it all depends on what the desired result is. Do we want an even comp, a fair comp or strong as can possibly be comp? I don't think any system will give us all three.
Or do the ddca just say to all the clubs that have complained, get off your fat arse and go and find some sponsors then you may be able to attract quality players?
That's what i was getting at when i mentioned that open slather does not necessarily mean it'd be unfair, but it would definitely make it uneven. In saying that, it probably is easier for some clubs to make money than others.

that is true, thats why i believe there needs to be some sort of system.
the new propsed system does not reward loyal servants to the club......i do not beleive that a player who have played all his jnrs at a certain club and then all his seniors at the same club should be based as a person that has been at a club for 5 yrs. Under the new proposed system the two are judged the same.,
Jeff Thom from MMs is worth 1 pt but likewise Nick Bole Brown next year(5yrs) is also worth one pt........20 yrs at the one club has the same value as 5 yrs at the one club........not in my opinion. A person like JT should not be included in the system.

You should get a point for every year of service at your club and every side must have 100pts or more a game lol

Sir, u make it sound like we have some kind of sugar daddy tipping in unlimited funds thru our club, without knowing the ins and outs of all clubs , i would debate whether any committee would work as long and hard on fundraising and sponsorship than ours , Reading all the posts i am sensing that alot of your points (some valid ) is talking about us and our player payments.... Again, our recruiting committee work there backsides off all winter tryting to improve our club.... Its no secret that we dont have the depth in juniors such as all caseys clubs have so would u prefer we just roll over and disappear or continue to work hard and push on to the best of our ability.....
Ps. i also have no answer as to what is the best case scenario....
Why dont you stop commenting on this competition, it doesnt concern you anymore. When you played in it no one on here gave a Flying Fck on your opinon and we now value it even less

Not all Q,
Let put it this way, for all clubs that do work hard and have a good sponsorship base like sscc can afford to pay out some ok money. My question to slocs was that if he played at a club that did not have a good sponsorship base would his opinion of it being open slather still be the same. IMO I dont believe it would be.
Ease up bubblehead, you're reading too much into what Sir was saying. As he just explained, he wasn't suggesting you have an endless money pit, or that you don't work hard for your money, he was asking the question of Slocs whether he'd feel the same way (re: scrapping rule 7 altogether) if he played at a club that wasn't so succesful off-field. Sir suggests that he wouldn't.
