14 clubs responded within 24 hours & the other 2 within 48 hours.
Your club chose to wait four days (until 29th November) before putting their hand up, which was way too late.
Some people wanted to know how the draw was effected.
It was as simple as numbering applications as they came in, then putting 16 numbers in a hat and drawing them out (1st out played 2nd out, etc with odd numbers drawn out being the home sides).
Quarter-finals draw is on MyCricket (winner of game 1 plays winner of game 2 etc). Home sides were selected on basis of away sides in round 1 having preference. Venue for Doveton v Berwick match was decided on best percentage, as both sides had round 1 home matches.
Hopefully weather will be kind and we'll get away on 30/11.
Nicko, cheers for the response and i did find out of the pres that we were a little late on our request due to robbie being interstate for wok. What I would say is that i cant understand why any club wouldn't want to play in the 20/20 competition, therefore i think you should only nominate if your didn't want to be in it rather then the other way around.

Present format allows for 16 teams only (reducing to eight for quarter-finals, then four for semi-finals, then two for final), so if the Match Committee only received say six clubs declining (of the 26 turf clubs), how would they eliminate a further three clubs?
First in best dressed has worked well for the competition which has been going since 2006/2007 (notice your club has drifted in and out, playing 2006/07 & 2008/09 only).
Interesting that your president missed the due date because he was interstate working. What was the secretary's excuse, as he also received the email?
