another wash out looms and the weather next week does not look promising either. Are clubs having any trouble getting in player fees / subs?

With so much rain and even the carpet grades being washed out it would be reasonable to suggest clubs will suffer getting cash in. Do players have a right to have subs reduced due to not playing cricket?

The cost of running a club  is only slightly reduced.

Or as usual do Goblins know fcuk all

perhaps with some clubs but Saturday / Sunday cricket does not help consistent numbers. Look at it this way... It takes a stack of beer sales to cover subs not paid

It this hasnt been an issue for your club Jake then good luck to you

You'd sell more piss if cricket was being played Jake. Your regular 15 blokes at home games plus the majority of your teams on a Saturday night will out do the 15 bar flies on a wash out.

I wrote that " I would expect bar takings to have increased due to washout " dont remember saying that it offset subs, it was a tongue in cheek comment meaning that we have spent more time drinking then playing cricket.
As for getting sub's paid why should this season be any different  regardless of the weather every season seems to be the same for most clubs chasing up offenders.
What makes this harder is that you cannot make the threat that a player will not be selected if unpaid by a certain round
Why should a discount be given because you havent played , clubs still have to bear the costs regardless if matches go ahead, utilities need to be paid, gear needs to be brought, fridges need to be stocked etc . Players still attend the club and expect it to be opened for training nights and wash out days. They still expect to have the food , drinks etc.

Totally agree with Prince , simple economics really,  supply and demand = increased revenue

I think you'll find most of the smaller clubs will struggle to meet their debts at the seasons end with the lack of cricket.

The bloods are quite lucky in regards to support on washout days with around 50 odd people turning up. But as Prince said most clubs would just have the clubs regular drinkers turning up when the other players would be out with the missus or at the pub. Huge lack of revenue for the first 1/3 of the season.

Not a good season for all this rain to happen. No salary cap...i wonder how my clubs over budgeted on their players.

Keysie would possibly be playable depending on any more rain. Outfield was fine just depends how soft the square is i guess.
