Sir,

the fact you had 50 odd on the board does not maen the the skipper just goes through the paces by starting off with the quicks and works through the litter down to the slowies.

That isn't good captaincy and as a spectator i have every right to comment. The young bloke Dalzotto should have been ripped off after 1 ot 2 overs and told straight away "son, if you can't attack the stumps then you need to come off"

I am all for giving kids a go but when you have a low score don't concede the game and just let anyone have a trundle

Train, i respect your answer and i'm not asking you to belt the skipper. In between viewing the game and watching Lefty talk to the Booths, Slocs and the over rated Walton i couldnt help but think the game was crying out for Mc Donnell.

I even saw Doogs pacing up and down faster than ever and i know he was thinking is was mighty time for his boy to launch a few down. Not for one minute am i saying the game result could have been changed

Who does this guy play for? Is he an overseas pro or something?

Geez Goblin, I know you've made a few enemies on here in your short time but he'd probably one bloke i wouldn't want to make enemies with. It might be best you keep your anonymity...

Gee whiz train, dont be so defensive. I think by saying you wouldnt slag him of on here means you actually thought some changes were warranted.

you have every right to comment, didnt say you couldnt. he obviously felt the quicks where more of a chance.

and your last comment is just stupid. bowling davies, goodes, crawf and dalzotto is not conceding.

Sir,

I don't think you were at the game. On this forum you are turning into Kofi Annan with your diplomatic defending of all and sundry at Berwick.

Home truth time. Evans is not a great skipper. Not a bad player but ordinary with the Captaincy. Berwick should never have bowled as that was an old fashioned SS wicket that looked and acted lively.

With regard to the bowling, Dalzotto could have bowled later in the day. A good skipper would waited and as there were plenty of overs left, the kid eventually would have bowled. When he did bowl he was very wide of the stumps and put no pressure on the bats.

Sorry to offend but thats the truth

ok Sir no problem, we can beg to differ.

I do have one question that i would really like you to answer. Why has Berwick never stuck with a Capt for any length of time. If my memory is correct you have just about had a new skipper every year in the last 8 or 9.

Come on Kofi

i think im right in saying we've had molly 3 years, crawf 1, hampton 2, carr 2 and evans 2.

i think crawf had one year at it and i dont no the reason why it was only one, molly im sure stood aside due to work commitments, hampton had a few family issues and only played the one year when wil was skipper, wil got injured and hasnt played since.

also i think ash henry was appointed one year but found the role wasnt for him after a couple of months.

not sure its an issue though, shows the depth we have.

Thanks Kofi,

it is an issue i am afraid. Changing skippers has nothing to do with depth, more to do with instability.

If you add up all the names you mentioned you would have to admit that there are plenty. I don't know for sure but i doubt any other team would have had that many skippers in such a short time

2 flags, one runner up, plus a number of finals apperances in turf 1 during this time,  not sure it matters. apart from sscc every other team would die for this record.

whats your point?

my point is that it seems strange to keep turning over Cpts thats all. There are stacks of blokes you reeled off and to me that is very unusual.

Why havent you tried Francis?

No i am not being a knob. He is your highest credentialed current player. Seems real weird to reel off so many names and Francis who i.m.o is your best. It was a genuine question.

Stump, what relevence do Buckleys 4 have when comparing the numbers to Berwick?
