Mate, I seriously can't believe you think your idea is better. It's hopeless. I can sort of understand what advantages you see in it. But i really don't think you've looked at the negatives at all, which incidentally far outweigh the positives.

theres negatives and positives no matter what system you introduce. i dont see negatives outweighing positives at all in what ive said.

Exactly where I was heading train, spot on. The quality of cricket in turf 2 would also improve. I would also rename the top 2 grades.

Yeah you can do that as WGCA did. Wouldn't probably go for Premier, District and Sub-District though, sounds a bit tacky.

Shut up peckerhead. Just because you've got nothing intelligent to add. It's the first decent cricket topic thats been on here in a long time, so we will continue to discuss it, with your blessing or without.

bottom team from turf 1 goes down to turf 2 and 1st placed turf 2 goes up to turf 1, the clubs 2nds follow suit no matter where they finish.

There you go, you've just explained to everyone in one sentence how ridiculous your idea is.

slocs is probably preparing his submission as to why turf 1 should be re-named the slocombe shield.

Ok for example.

Springy Sth finish bottom of Turf 1, but there Turf 3 side wins the flag. This would mean that there 1's drop to Turf 2 (fair enough), but there 2's who just won the flag in Turf 3 drop to Turf 4 (????). Springy Sth 1's then struggle for a few years because the persuader's money has dried up, meanwhile their 2's keep winning outright on the first day because they were the best team in Turf 3 before being relegated. What would then happen if Springy Sth 1's finish bottom of Turf 2? Do there 2's go down to Turf 5? If so, then that defeats the purpose of your Turf 5 proposal and they would start winning outright before tea on day one!

I'll say it again one more time, your proposal is ridiculous and will never work.
