If it isnt broke, why try and fix it. Sorry sir but i dont like your idea at all and not really a fan of the 8 team idea with half the games being 1 dayers either. Most blokes on here love test cricket and the local comps 2 day format is the closest thing we can get to it. Having so many 1 day games makes it more of a jackpot and the skills required in the longer forms will become no more. A bloke showing tremendous patience batting for 80 overs will be lost to sloggers with no technique and great bowlers who bust their nut for 25 overs will be gone. The current system works and the clubs that have worked hard for the last decade or longer doesnt deserve to be told that some of their teams will be dropping down for no bloody reason.

sir are turf 5 clubs just banished forever under your system?

maybe they are. i mentioned before it would be hard now and thats why it should've happened years ago when they extended the turf comp. maybe we have to many turf clubs.

the current set up is terrible IMO, TURF1 clubs whos 2nds are turf 4 turf 2 teams whos 2nds play b or c grade etc....

i would like to see ones play ones and twos play twos.

Honest Bobs, we haven't played a full two day game this year yet. You are still scheduled to play 7 x 80 over games in that set-up, which i reckon is plenty. No there's nothing wrong with the current competition. But how good would it be if it was an 8 team comp. Every week there would be at least 3 cracking games. At the moment, we have about 4 or 5 a year.

Playing the same side a possible 3 times a year is just not appealing to me. Maybe 4 with all the twenty20 stuff.
Variety is the spice of life.

in your system then sir why not give those clubs in your turf 5 the same set up. Make your current turf 5 into turf 3 then align the clubs as follows turf 1 & 4, 2 & 5, 3 & 6.
I like the other system better but I reckon yours would better with my suggestion.

I really don't see the issue in that Sir. If your seconds are in Turf 4 or B Grade, that's obviously the level they are at. I don't see the point in changing the whole structure of the competition and making it lopsided just so 1sts play 1sts, 2nds play 2nds etc.

Fair call, 2O2S. I'm in the same boat, just can't keep up with these blokes anymore.
