not sure why we're going on about a game from 3 rounds ago but here goes .

tmf your kidding arent you, i went out and we needed 16 off 16 with 7 wickets in hand, from what remember it then went to 10 of 15 with a six of the next ball over covers, no luck involved in that run chase at all, just calculated batting . we were none for 100 after 28 overs so it was a pretty comfortable win.

we had no problem in waiting till this week to get the runs, once the covers were down friday , it was just qa matter of time before the chase resumed at some stage saturday arvo.

i put it out there though, has anyone ever had there covers " blow off " overnight when every single hole was pegged down, just may of been a couple of dissapointed pirates on saturday morning when they saw that the deck was dry.

Youre obviously not the chucker then. Personally i thought you guys had the game in control because you always maintained wickets in hand, but u made hard work of it when you required 38 off the last 4 overs n as our scorer said, u guys were "****ting yourselves" on the boundary.. but yes then nut bags hit a few relieving boundaries and it was all but over when you came in..

And yes our covers have blown off at least twice since ive been playing.. hard to stop that from happening when you have 70+ km/h winds coming straight off the bay.
Luckily your ground holds water better the ours or you would have had a disappointing washout even if youre pitch was in perfect condition!

Cant be any more obvoius and blatant then what happened at bondi on the weekend. Covers taken off against the wind, water dumped three metres away from the square and the home ground players didn't even start showing up till qurter to one. It was an absolute farse. Then when they did show up they had one broom when a ddca rep asked them to bring five of six. Just wish they would piss off back to the league they came from if they dont want to play.

You have a cheek canning another clubs ground Bod. Narre Nth has the worst wicket in the association, I wouldn't let my dog piss on it.

You should have a look in your own back yard before having a go at other clubs you absolute flog. To my knowledge there are not many clubs in the DDCA that own a super sopper if we had one of them we might have played.

Dont know that the actual ground is that bad camel but the wicket is pretty ordinary this year no doubt about that. I'm pretty sure that we'd just about have the best facilitys in the league though and give the wicket time its only three years old and has a million junior football games on it a year. Big Daddy dont even try and say that you lot did your best to get the game started your opening bowler left in slacks and a shirt and tie to an engagement party at 1. Please

No need for a super soaker if your drag the covers off the ground BEFORE you tip them over clown. Also a tip for the future, try dragging the covers with the wind and not against it and it wont look so suss

Just thought the openers n the chucker put a bit more pressure on you than there should have been..
And im tipping if your covers blew off on friday night.. it wouldnt have been by accident! haha

BOD you insect, the covers had nothing to do with that puddle/lake on the ground, if you looked at any of the other grounds/ results in the Kingston area you would have seen that, Parkdale, Aspendale, Kingston saints, Chelsea hts grounds were all flooded and no play took place on saturday at all. Also one of the other grounds 100metres away (Bondi #2s) outfield was covered in puddles too. These grounds along the beach between Mentone and bonbeach copped the full brunt of the rain which came from the West..

We did what we could to try and play.. but we're realists and knew that it was never going to dry enough to be safe!

If we really didnt wanna play, we could have just waited an extra couple of days to get that sprinkler repaired and the ground would have been fukd,  but we were keen to play n knew you had a suspect batting line up n we were always a chance to win, however we'll take the 3 points and move on and hope next season is a bit more dry! wink
