8 CRAIG SLOCOMBE: Slocombe was a teenage star who went on to become an even better player as he got older. His finals record is the equal of any and his ability to change a game in a short time cannot be understated. He also owns a double century. A belligerent bat, he rarely allowed a bowler to get on top of him and continued to apply pressure by scoring at a scorching rate

sounds like the doogie howser of the DDCA

I see Goblin is online. Interested in your thoughts on Cam's top 25 gobby? I'm sure there's a few in there you wouldn't have had? Would also like to here your top 25 if it differs to Cam's.

Congratulations to everyone on the list especially the 5 Hallam boys. We also has Davison and Slocombe who both played in Premierships for us. Fair percentage for one club - knock that effort Goblin!!

The big mouth Poms back on line and it didn't take long for that fat Pommy trap to get to work.

Berwick easily have Hallam covered. To claim Davidson and Slocombe is pisss poor, its like saying Brereton was a Magpie.  You must be devastated that the love child is ranked numb 2?

Train, my thoughts as folows on Cams 25

Fernando       Qustionable
Bayes             Talented but didn't play senior cricket much
Payne             Didn't think he was classy enough
Carr                Played 1st class cricket, should be top 10
Pattinson        As above
Iverson           Was sharp and worthy of being in
Jayasuriya      Thought he could really play, would be in my 25
Hendy             Wookie medalist and no longer a kid,  ahead of Sharpe and Payne
Darrell Taylor   Perhaps too old but if you ask some of the old brigade people swear he was quick,  had the ball on a string, moved it both ways and intimidating

Everone would say Cam himself should be in there. Lastly, his brother Jim ranked too high. He was not better than Mullens or Cashman. And no ones mentioned there are no keepers?

Can't argue with the list at all, but having been hit about the person by all of the bowlers in there, would rate Chooka as as fast as any of them (except Robbie) and was there when he took 8 for 50 - odd against SS off his short run at Wachter in the twilight of his career. Should have been named in the "apologies" list, at least.

Goblin what makes you a world authority on the DDCA? I said it was a good effort, not the best. As for Chappy at No.2 I will talk with Cam on my return and ensure this is reversed. Money has worked in the past and should now.

Pom,

You know you were going to get a response. Berwick had more players in than Hallam, simple as that. To claim Slocombe is grasping at straws

I never claimed Slocs just stated he had played in a Premiership for us. Get your carer to read things to you it may help.
