Another for keeper would be Wayne Ewin, decent bat and Wookey Medal winner. Chooka even at the end of his career had a really fast effort ball which would scare the crap out of most batsmen.

I think Cam has explained why he was put lower however I think he should be considerably higher and I also agree with Stumpy regarding Wayne Ewin. I would include Ewin for his sledging alone!!

Gonna print and frame this comment.  Not often the Pom would agree with me.

As i've mentioned on here before, I only ever faced Chooka once and it was the first ever ball I faced in Turf 1 cricket as a 15 year old kid. Cartwheeled my off peg before I played a shot. Looked a pretty handy bowler to me!

Train, my thoughts as folows on Cams 25

Fernando       Qustionable
Bayes             Talented but didn't play senior cricket much
Payne             Didn't think he was classy enough
Carr                Played 1st class cricket, should be top 10
Pattinson        As above
Iverson           Was sharp and worthy of being in
Jayasuriya      Thought he could really play, would be in my 25
Hendy             Wookie medalist and no longer a kid,  ahead of Sharpe and Payne
Darrell Taylor   Perhaps too old but if you ask some of the old brigade people swear he was quick,  had the ball on a string, moved it both ways and intimidating

Everone would say Cam himself should be in there. Lastly, his brother Jim ranked too high. He was not better than Mullens or Cashman. And no ones mentioned there are no keepers?

Darryl Taylor is an interesting one Goblin. Not sure how much cricket he would've played against Cam. My old boy played against him and reckons he was the best he's ever seen at our level. He can't talk highly enough of him. Hasn't he taken over 1000 wickets or something incredible like that?

Wouldn't want to run into him in a dark alley either...

My old man played with Darryl at Lyndale for 20 years, says he was brilliant with a nasty streak that would scare the 5hit out of anyone

It could be his young bloke. I saw Darrell bowl a few times and straight away it was blatantly obvious he could bowl. I then saw him a few years later towards the end and he still bowled good wheels and seamed and swung the thing all over the place..

Don't get me wrong or mis quote my comments as i think Cam did a great job and would be able to provide logic around all selections. Everyone has to remember that 25 years is a long time, players come and go. We can all build cases for those that we personally admire, thats the beauty of sport and opinions.

Hawk was one of my favourites

Lefty Wright from the Methos...i think took something like 700+ wkts in the 60-70s. At an average of around 8ish by memory. Kiwi maybe able to help me out on this one.

I know they where Cam's 25..but if it was the DDCAS top 25 i am sure this fella would be up there. Played around 200 games ... most at the highest level.

Father whilst I was at hallam's 100 year thingy, they named a guy called Harry ackland. He made something like 30,000 runs and made his last century when he was 60. But I'm not sure if cam was around then.

I was merely pointing out if the DDCA did their top 25 perhaps it would be vastly different to Cams.

Bloke called George Harvey Cranbourne) took 42 5fa or more including a best of 10/25 in Round 2 A Grade in 1962/63 which was the highest grade then. 85 games for 570 wickets thats 6.7 wickets per game.

But Cam was talking last 25 years
