To be honest thought, I think old Riffy has a point. You blokes need to pull your head in and realise that it's only park cricket. You can't fit 18 blokes into 11! What if big Andy doesn't cut it?
Look, let's clear this up.
As stated in a previous post, "The General" will be used in the short version of the game mainly, Shaun Tait style, but also if the selection committee (Slocs) thinks a batting line up may be vulnerable to quick, spitting type deliveries. He won't play every game in the 1's as the perceived batting line up's of our opposition will handle him easier than others. He will be a bit like an egg fart: no matter how long you try and delay the inevitable, eventually it will get through.
Yes Train it is only park cricket but we at The Bloods have quite a lot of sponsors who want to see some Return On Invested Captial or ROIC as we put it. We have an obligation to them and our club to make sure we give ourselves the best possible chance of winning a T1 flag so players such as Ayres, Ryan and Lee will be renumerated for their services accordingly.
Pecker has the right idea though not only the 2's Peck, but the rest of the club.
Managed to catch up with The General after training and he had plenty to say
1, He declared he's in prime condition and the move to the Bloods was long overdue
2, Accomodation at President Lawlers place is not what was promised and in Big Drews words "a breach of contract, i at least need a bed"
3, Meeting Slocombe was a shock "fort he was a skinny dude but maybe im finken of someone else".
4, Is looking fwd to meeting Ayres. I then explained to the big lad that he had been bowling to Warren for several weeks now........... oh av i said Drew
5, General said "crickets a simple game, thats why Im good"
6, The Generals said he's a relation of Doug "Tombstone" Loudon. Drew wore Dougs whites last week hence the pissy green stains down the front of the strides and the hardened snot boulders on his sleeve. Still got me teeth said Drew
Thanks Gobby for the info.... I was unsure what you were talking about , but having just got home, having had a lovely time in Sri Lanka, I was unsure of the man you speak of, but do remember giving an open cheque to Sharp to recruit at will. Is he as good as you say. If so i look forward to seeing him in the red and white.......

diwell has left cranny aswell as a couple other senior players. will be a real struggle for them now as they have crumbled when required in the last few yeas.
Nunawading CC offer a very warm welcome to Glen Scales. Glen is a good mate of First XI Captain, Matty Meehan and has played a lot of First XI cricket in the DDCA. Glen bowls left arm over . We can also report that Glen is a typical No. 11 fast-bowling batsman. I think that means a quick 20 or 0 !
The General Lee has got you bluffed BJ. The lure of the new aggat at Springy Sth has got The Generals juices flowing. Paper work is in motion for a clearance. Slocs and crew very excited
