Not there anymore so unbiased question billy, but what would Alex Nelson offer that has been missing from keysie?
Haven't been too many complaints the last couple of years has there?

To be honest Sheepy taking Alex Nelson out of the equation, apart from a great outfield (which many grounds now have) what does Keysy offer that makes them deserve to have a T1 GF? There was nothing on offer at last years GF that is not already provided by most clubs in a normal T1 game.

not saying keysie offers any more BB but as they are the current hosts and doing a good job i cant see why there is a need to change it.
Redbacks from my knowledge southern pirates havent shown any interest in hosting it. Dont know that for a fact, just what i have heard. Not sure they would have the numbers of people willing to help that are required to host it.

I personally would like to see whoever hosts the T1 GF making it more of an event rather than just another game.

Not quite. Better catering, GF programs/records, electronic scoreboard (temporary), sightscreens (had them the year before) etc. I also like the idea of having the T1 GF on a separate weekend to all the other grades.

Having the T1 gf a weekend later isnt as simple as it sounds BB, footy take over the grounds 1st of april. If we pushed the granny back this year the extra weekend allowed for a wet first w/e would fall in april. Although if a ground doesnt have footy on it like alex nelson..........i see where your going!!!!
Dont mind the other ideas though, but all come at a cost and unless you can isolate the T1 granny it makes it hard to get the crowds to cover all the extra costs espicially when a signficant number of the crowd dont use that bar facilities on site preferring to byo.

Was at the wick's ground on Sunday loved the scoreboard, ground in good nick ,wicket obviously fine.As to who should host the T1 grand final ....... who cares as long as it goes to the best venue . Hosting the grand final is not a huge coin raiser , a couple of Bunnings BBQ,S would replicate the result with a lot less work , always happy to have it at Keysie, but if not good luck to those who get the oppotunity

Grounds vary from year to year for mine. Harold isn't at it's best at the moment in my opinion and I've heard neither is keysey, whilst berwick is at it's best. Should be like premier cricket and be rewarded on who has the best facilities for the occasion at the time.

GF venues should be shared around as there are now quite a few grounds good enough to host.  A City of Casey ground should be given a chance but the ground has to be neutral........ no home game advantage .

Berwick are obviously going to make or go very close to the top 4. How much notice does a club need to host a gf? For example if it comes down to Berwick or keysie how long can you wait to see how Berwick go before making the decision?

Berwick would be ideal to host the Turf 1 GF. Great ground, great facilities.

I reckon it spent way too long at Wachter.

The best facilities in the competition by a long way belong to a lowly turf 4 club who don't have the people needed to host.

Fair point. Not sure they would have the volunteers required though.
