I don't think i'd have a problem with it, if I was the opposition it Sir. That being said however, probably best to avoid it if possible......

No, open to all kinds of accusations if he gives a dodgy one in his teams favor.

Was staggered when Scotty Oulofsan was given Dandy Wests T2 granny the other year

Surely with the amount of umpires and amount of games it can easily be avoided.

I agree with prince. Why put them in that situation when it can be avoided?

Neil Evans has umpired other games involving Dandy West before this round Also the late Vin Hobson had umpired games involving Dandy West and he was legend of the club .And I dont believe either of theese men would let the fact that its there team influence there decison making.

important games should get seasoned well credentialed umpires. I was staggered that last week some of the best umps had the lesser important games. How can this be the case?

So if Ash Barrow was available to do the Turf 1 Grand Final this year and it involved Doveton you wouldn't appoint him?

A number of ex DDCA players are umpiring in the DDCA at Turf 1 level and this should not preclude them from officiating games considered as appropriate to their level.

I DON'T LIKE IT! Nothing personal against the ball counters.

Gobby, I believe the Sunday rnd didn't suit a few of the turf 1 hat holders

Would it be right if JKP's dad was the magistrate overseeing the claim for compensation when he lost half of his tongue?

So does that mean we shouldn't have cousins captaining against each other?

Is Ash Barrow a life member at Doveton stumpy?

It's not so much that people think they will cheat, more that it just puts the umpy under more pressure to get it right. One mistake in favour of his ex club and he would be labelled a cheat straight away. One mistake the other way and his ex club would be saying he's trying too hard not to cheat which isn't fair on them.

Why put them in that situation when it's not needed?

It used to be you had to umpire 2 or 3 years before you could officiate in a game which your club was involved. dont know if that still applies but i suspect it does not anymore

the umpire appointments are in T1 are moved around so that all umpires get to umpire at least 1 game involving each club which seems fair to me.......

PS Prince say hello to Barry and Des on Saturday

I really see no problem. You want the best to umpire & the guys in T1 are there for a reason. I would have thought they would have been caught out during the year if they were going to cheat or be biased.

I actually have an opinion like most others on who the best are but it may be seen to be biased on one cos of a family connection. I would have no problem him umpiring us if we played against the team that he had actually coached during his stint in the DDCA.

And for those that want to delve further i'll not name the umpire cos it's not fair to him!
