How do you make a rule to prevent it though slocs? You could declare at 0/1, 0/10 etc etc.
Don't like it but with this almost happening again, it can't be long before its a one dayer last round surely.

Hey gobby did the a grade boys get enough runs you think? 593 enough? No thought of given the 8 guys from parkfield a chop out and declaring around, I don't know maybe 450-500???

 At least it wasn't hot.

not sure. haven't really thought it through. maybe have it like english cricket (but shower afterwards) but have finals. 45 over one dayers where bowlers can bowl 12-14 each or something. can play home and away then. i don't bloody know...

selfish lot our A grade, yelled that out all day to them.

The issue of a 0/0 declaration lies within the "spirit of cricket" interpretation. I am fairly sure the DDCA said 'declare 0 /0 at your own peril and still one side wanted to go that way. I do agree though that "sporting arranged declarations" can fall into the contrived territory.

I am a tad stunned that some on this forum see the 0/0 as being ok

Don't like the idea of just one dayers, but a max of 6 points per result plus bonus points might be ok.

Sounds like someone needs to write an open letter! Nth Dandy wouldn't need 8 or 10 points if they had've chased a poultry 125 against Dandy West the week before, couldn't do that so don't deserve to play finals anyway. Just sayin..

no it isnt prince. just thought it was a good effort for 8 blokes to turn up in that heat, last game of the year, nothing to play for could have easily pulled the pin. you reckon 593 is enough to get the points?

Should be a good run chase if they put away the bad balls and run hard between the wickets

The Spirit of Cricket is a croc. If it wasn't there wouldnt be umpires or rule books. Round 11 should be a one day game like it used to be. It goes back to the run outs fiasco many years ago. The DDCA wont go back to a one dayer because they see it as an admission that they were wrong to change it.

I'm with Prince. They just have to break it down into small targets. Around 7.5 an over. So they need to be no more than 1 down for 150 and drinks, around 2-3 down for 300 at tea. And if they can get at 450 for the loss of no more than 4 wickets, they are in with a big show. Every ball on its merits.

Sheepy it was a fantastic effort by them. They continued to chase down balls right to the end some of their youngers guys continued to have a crack all day. Interesting how their F grade had a full side but their 3rd eleven and their 4th eleven (lost outright already) barely had the numbers not fair on the higher grades I dont think. I recken a few words would have been spoken later that night at their club.

thats not the fault of the 8 guys on the field though smitty, surely 400, 450 even 500 was plenty?
its just my opinion mate but just seemed unnecessary to me.
agree its pretty ordinary if their 5ths were full at the cost of the 3rds and 4ths.
