My, my. Talk about being thin skinned! I'll deal with the two poster boys separately.

First Grub. You sound offended because I called you grubby.

It is simply (and only) a play on the word grub. Just as i play with train (cho cho), etc etc. doesn't mean i literally think you are grubby. i don't know you so I cant make such a statement. you have not posted anything remotely grubby aimed at me so i have no reason to believe you are. its just a play on words man. Lighten up.

No offence taken at all Gloves. I was trying to work out who u are as not many call me by the nickname Grubby as most actually only know me as Grub. I'm not hiding who i am on the forum like others so if i say something & someone dont like it then they know where to come to to speak to me. smile

Plush premises if you talk about a shoebox.

Visiting sides have always had access to the DDCA side of Dickson pavilion.  Umpires I have been with have always used the DDCA Committee room so that visiting sides weren't lumped in with umpires which happens at a lot of grounds.

The Buckley boys went behind the backs of the following:- Dandenong Cricket Club, DDCA, Dandenong Stingrays, the Dandenong Council curators and of course the umpires. None of them are too happy with Buckley.

They might make a lot of noise but I'm cetain 99% of opposition players don't like playing on the postage stamp.

For what it is worth the total cost will be about $500,000 by the time you take into renovations to the Shepley Oval Canteen and Greg Dickson Pavilion.  I would hate to be a ratepayer in Dandenong knowing that.

So it looks like some of your statements are inaccurate again.

I bet their are other clubs in Dandenong who would want some money spent on them.

Finally Buckley, I believe, were offered Warner Reserve and its huge pavilion but knocked it back.

This would have to be the biggest load of crap I have ever read on this forum. If you actually believe what you have written has any resemblence of truth then I really feel sorry for you. I am sure Certain councilors and executive members of buckley ridges will be interested in the above comments you have made.

The truth hurts.  The fact is that Buckley Ridges approached Dandenong Council and none of the 5 unhappy other parties knew of the decision by the council until after it was made.  The work on the Shepley Oval canteen was costed at $250000 and then there are the renos to Greg Dickson Pavilion after that.

So let's see you come up with some facts Phil as I have rather than the CRAP you have written.

The fact is that there is not an ounce of truth in both the statements you have made. The fact is that you have no idea of what you are talking about. I hope this matter is taken further by the appropriate people.

Spoke to CJ today and he all but confirmed that he'll be going to Silverton. Wanted to play closer to home and said they are a young club on the rise.
Good luck to him I say...

Haven't you heard? Nothing so cheap as smorgasbords. The New Manor will in fact, be using some of that grandiose sum mentioned by the uprooted Stump to lay-on a full dining service, complete with white linen tablecloths and starched serviettes in silver rings to wine and dine visiting teams. It's the new Buckley strategy to woo opposition teams like lambs to the slaughter.

Speaking of which, Sheep lover, they had considered employing you as a consultant re. lamb dishes until someone pointed out that the way you like your sheep done would not be suitable for a family club.

I think Stump is going to find that his falacious and HUGELY exaggerated figure about council spending will result in all three of his pegs being knocked over by some express deliveries from Dandenong Council, who naturally were incorrectly portrayed as spendthrifts by such an idiotic post.

Let's see if he also uproots himself from ever officiating again in a game involving said club. He's bared his colours for all to see with an incredibly vindictive outburst.

Ok Read the Future Of Sports in CGD Sports Facilities Plan first.

2011/12 Buckley Ridges $80,000.  14/15 $211,000  and 19/20  $264000

Total $555,000 to be used on Buckley Ridges Park Oval.

Then they don't mention the cost of turning the Shepley Pavilion Canteen into DDCA rooms which was stated to be approx.$250,000.  I found this incredulous as you could get  Simonds Homes to build you a 5 bedroom home for this money.  But it was often repeated during the last year.

So Leadgloves, falacious you say well then  your statement is just a bit off the mark.

As for separating what happens in the middle to what happens off ground you obviously don't know me well enough to know that your request warrants only contempt.

As for vindictive, never, just a few facts presented so people know the other side of the story.

As for poor old Phil well he has his story from Buckley where he plays.

Not sure where the big thunder bucket got his info from but i tell u what gloves, i'll have $1k on cj not going to silverton. R u up to it and would anyone else like a bit of this! The thunder bucket has nothing to do with silverton and they don't want anything to do with him once they got rid of him as a jnr. He has no decent connections anymore so wouldn't even know if it snowed in winter or not! What say you Gloves?

Gub, if he stays, good for you. I call em as I hear.

As I've mentioned before on this forum, I'm not a bettting person. Anyway, I wouldn't put a cent on cj under any circumstances, let along 1k, which I don't have to waste on someone/something that i personally don't give a fig about.

Stump,  Re the first par. Absolutely misleading and incorrect. The ONLY people to be dealt with were the DDCA and Dandy Council. This was done over several seasons, just ask them for gods sake man!

Re second par: Your costing re Buckley is sooo wide  off the mark its like some of the lbws you've given. Further, the inference, indeed only meaning to be taken from the last sentence of your quote apropos hating being a ratepayer, paying for improvements that umpires will enjoy should preclude you from enjoying any benefits thereof, including the facilities created as well as match payments from clubs within Dandy Council jurisdiction. If you mock and express disdain for what the local council is trying to do to help grass roots sport, especially the one from which you derive a direct financial benefit, then do the decent thing and stop umpiring within the purview of said council and administer your poor judjement in another jurisdiction.

Gloves,
Maybe I should write in red so that it is looks more emphatic.

The DDCA were told after the decision was made to turn the whole of the Dickson Pavilion over to BRCC. In fact requests were made as early as September 2011 along the lines of when were the DDCA and DDCUA going to move their stuff out. Some consultation that was.

I have no problem with any council spending money on sporting facilities. I have been involved in senior cricket for close to 43 consecutive seasons and know how difficult it is to gain funding. I have been in every position you can be on a Cricket club committee so have had to deal with this question from all angles.

The spending on BRCC amounts to about $7000 per player. That is about 6 years of a single ratepayers rates on current values.

All of this costing comes from a Greater Dandenong City Council public document so you are saying that this is "sooo wide off the mark" then you are calling out the Council itself.

As I said in my penultimate post READ the document and then you will be better informed rather than dealing in supposition and contemptuous statements.

Come on Glove we all know most of the blokes down there wouldn't know which end of a fork to hold. As for a family club , are we talking about the same place. Even the Manson Family would venture down the creek
