Yeah he played a couple of games. Nice kid. He didn't do much but bowled reasonable enough. It's not a great standard. I play indoor with him too sometimes. He said he played a bit for Doveton IIRC.
Changing to Facebook will be the death rattle for this forum. I doubt all that follow it (guests especially) think the whole thing is pot shotting. Yes there is the odd bad sledge ( me an offender ) but on the whole there is far worse things going on elsewhere
It would work so much better. On here you have the same 10 (or less) people talking to each other and none of the guests want to get involved for fear of getting abused.
Once anonymity is removed, people are far less likely to dish out unnecessary verbals and far more likely to actually talk about interesting cricketing subjects.
As I said, we had a similar dying board in the UK and I created a facebook page and it has exploded. 600 members. At least 50 regular posters. Interesting topics. Easy to upload photos such as wicket/outfield conditions. And on match days its fantastic. People updating the scores from every ground.
I'm tempted to create it for you just so you can see how good it would be.
If I did I would just create it and make some of the seniors on here Admins. You'd find that it doesn't really need moderating though because all the little tits who abuse people anonymously go mysteriously quiet....
It wouldn't be hard for someone to make a new Facebook account with an alias and it will be no different to this forum in my opinion. I can just see prince mark, g train and slocs signing up new hotmail accounts as we speak
How will it work Slocs? How can you stop blokes like Goochy and Fridge making new email accounts and new alias's?
apparently you can look at their IP address. you having us on stump?
No you should have it inbult with the forum software but I don't know whether it is. and as for Goochy, you make a rule that anyone using a VPN or VPS will be banned. BB would have to tell us about the IP trace.

I'll set it up later in the arvo or earlier tonight. Would the DDCA have a problem if it was called DDCA chat group? Or what other names do you suggest?
