Now that the two sunday games got a full days play does that mean all other games stand as is? if so could be a disadvantage to teams that have played just a couple of overs.
Also if this is true how can we have a comp where this round we will have two full 80 over games, one 40 over one dayer and the rest one 80+ games that could easily end in a draw?
We might win and get 6 points (possible 3 point advantage over those who started on Saturday) or get rolled and be 3 points behind the rest. Same as the teams that got a full day in on Sunday. I don't really think the DDCA can do a hell of a lot about it, at the end of the day the fixture is out at the start of the year and you just play to the laws of the game from there. They can't control the weather.
Different of course if only a couple of overs were bowled in all Turf 1 games, then they could easily re-schedule it to a one dayer. Some games too far down the track though.
The decisions of the DDCA Executive in relation to scores from round 1 matches that commenced on Saturday 6th October are as follows -
1. All turf matches, with the exception of Turf 2 - Southern Pirates (7/98 off 48 overs) v Narre South and Turf 3 - Buckley Ridges v North Dandenong (2/133 off 57 overs), have had scores voided and will be played as one-day matches on Saturday 13th October.
Sides may be reselected and new team sheets exchanged before start of play. Rules regarding one-day matches (coloured clothing, white balls & fielding restrictions in Turf 1 & Turf 2) will apply.
All turf matches that commenced on Sunday 7th October or were due to be played as one-day games on Sunday 14th October will continue as fixtured.
2. All two-day synthetic matches, with the exception of A Grade - Lynbrook v Coomoora (5/77 off 41 overs) andthose games that were forfeited (seven in total), will also be played as one-day matches on Saturday 13th October.
Again, sides may be reselected and new team sheets exchanged before start of play.
3. All one-day competition results from round 1 will stand i.e. four draws, two forfeits & one bye.
MyCricket dates have been adjusted as necessary, but players individual scores in matches that are being rescheduled as one-day games may need to be changed when new match data is input into MyCricket.
The DDCA have half come to there senses but really dont know why with no turf 1 getting any significant play on Saturday, they just didn't cancel Sundays game on Sat night. We could have a situation where there could be a chance of outrights where other teams can't get one! Luckily for them with the results it is unlikely to happen but who knows with both teams 2 for and not chasing to many there is still some posibility.
Hello choo choo. Nice to see (as always anticipated) Crawf among the T1 players on Saturday after you listed him among the departures in a pre-season post. Another of your pizztakes/misleading posts, or did your magnificent persuasive skills talk him round to playing?
Are you referring to today's email scruffy? Very messy situation they've found themselves in basically through no fault of their own.
I think they are handling it ok, never going to please everybody and doing what they can to give everyone a chance at a result. I'm not sure how I would have gone about it. Tough gig.

Yeah G Train, But they have made one error which now has forced them into this situation!!!! They should have cancelled Sunday's games the minute no significant play was acheived on Saturday then when this new situation occurs with the council, all games ( providing there are enough grounds) could have been played this weekend. Now we have an even more unfair situation facing clubs whether it be that they will get 10, 6 , 3 or 0 points. What if the results looked like this for sundays game mordi 90 parkfield 1 for 89 and coomoora 90 and doveton 1 for 89. How is it fair that doveton would go on to win and maybe get outright while Parkfield would have to settle for same as mordy with 3 points?
Scruffball, your rear-vision hypothesis is all well and good but methinks you are being tough on the blokes at the DDCA who are always going to be in a glass half-full situation when it comes to Melbourne's unpredictable weather. Perhaps this Saturday will be washed out, too!
Remarkable how choo choo keeps on derailing himself. Time to concentrate on what you toot out of your funnel, champ.
Yesterday toy train posted in reply to my earlier post: "Crawf was never going anywhere. What are you talking about?''
Well, here's what you tooted on June 18 (in answer to Prince) during the conversation about Cory Bevan being lured to the Cave: "Don't be so sure Prince, with Wills, McDonnell, Holden, Hewitt, Francis, Davies, Perrin, Tucker, Crawford and Henry gone and no replacements, he's every chance."
Still laugning (or should that be gagging) really quietly, champ?
if you could just stop laughing\gagging for a moment and explain to a poor ''moron'' (and others who may not have understood) what you meant by the word ''gone'' when you listed Crawf among those who had either walked elsewhere or retired?
After all, in my first post on the matter I inquired whether it was a pizztake or you had used your wonderful persuasive skills to talk him into playing on and your response would seem to indicate it was neither. As the former Queensland fish shop owner asked: please explain (in terms even a moron could understand).
I would rest your case too if I were you champ. I'll try spell it out for you. I named the entire premiership team other than myself as leaving and said we hadn't recruited a player, and you took this seriously. As I said from the start, you are so far behind the rest of us it's ridiculous.
